If you haven't been to Mikado (downtown) for a while, you need to check it out! The place has undergone a major renovation, and it also includes a shake-up behind the scenes. The atmosphere is light, modern, clean, and comfortable. (I love the flatscreen monitors behind the bar!). And the changes in the kitchen and at the sushi bar are an answer to many prayers. The kitchen chef is a well-known chef brought in from San Francisco, and the new executive sushi chef, Trace, is a young local who has an impressive passion for what he does. This all means that Mikado has quickly moved from a mediocre Japanese restaurant to the best in the state! If you're a connoisseur of sushi you'll be impressed by the fact that Otoro, Uni, Anago, Ankimo, and other high-end fare is offered on almost every day! Service not so hot.
