I have had 2 bad experiences with the doctors here. The first one was when a PA who removed 2 moles that were suspected to be malignant, and then said it was necessary to cover the wound with Silver Nitrate (AgNO3). She said it would make it scar better. I took her word for it, but later researched and found this is unheard of except with burns and large wounds. The scars that formed are hard ,bumpy and painful, unlike any of my other scars, which are soft and pliable.\r
Sadly, I went back to get a cherry angioma removed, which I learned online is a benign growth, that is only a cosmetic nuisance. The thought didn't ever occur to me that they would send the tissue to a pathologist, since all the websites I had found said there is no need for this. They did however, without asking or informing me, and Surprise! I get a large pathologists' bill a few weeks later for a completely unnecessary test. I am holding them responsible for paying the bill, we'll see what they think about that.
Cons: Unnecessary tests, and bad scarring due to the use of AgNO3.
