Gave me back my life 6/20/2010

I am a photographer, it is my life, and what I live to do. In 2005 I began having pain run down my arm and hand. My right hand became weak to the point I could not pick up my camera. It hurt to hold it or to push the shutter. I went to Dr. Jeffery Bash, and he did xrays, MRIs, and nerve conductive test. The results was that C5 in my neck has pushed into my spinal cord 2/3rds of the way putting alot of pressure on it. The pain was unbelievable. In 2006 Surgery was recommended and in May 06 I had the surgery. When I woke up Dr. Bash was in the recovery room. The amazing thing was I had no pain. It was the first time in over a year I had not felt pain. Dr. Bash was always patient with me, he expalined every move he was going to make. He assured me every step of the way. There is nothing more scarey than going into a surgery knowing someone was going to be working near your spinal cord. Dr. Bash gave me back my life, I am back to photography full time, and have never felt better. The pain has been gone now for 5 years now. If you want a compendent, knowledgable, compassionate doctor, then go see Dr. Jeffery Bash in Middletown, CT you will not be disappointed. Pros: no more pain, numbness, full mobility of neck Cons: scarest surgery I ever had to go through more

Spine Surgeon very dissapointing 1/9/2010

After 1 x-ray and approximately 5 minutes with Dr. Bash he decided that I would be 30% better if I participated in aquatic therapy... After a year, I was no better, in fact I was worse off. He doomed me to a lifetime of pain. After a long and painful search, I located Dr. Federico Girardi @ the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. Dr. Girardi repaired my severe degenerative scoliosis and fused 4 levels of my lumbar spine. I am 3 months post surgery and no longer in any pain. Life is good and I am hopeful. After some PT Dr. G. says that I will be able to resume activities like, golf, biking and tennis. Thank goodness I found Dr. Girardi who is a kind and caring doctor that always seems to have plenty of time for me! I am not rushed out of the office and always leave with everything that I need! His staff is as wonderful as he is! Thank you Dr. Bash for not performing surgery on my spine!!! Pros: I did not have spine surgery at mos. Cons: I was doomed to a lifetime of pain! more

Patheic Office Staff and Response! 9/10/2008

Interacting with this group is one of the most regrettable experiences of my life. The office staff is insensitive, unprofessional and incompetent. If you don't mind being treated like cattle, you may fair OK, otherwise, save yourself the grief of people who do not listen, do not respond and make it very clear that they really don't care about your needs. Pros: Doctors take time to talk with you. Cons: The worst office staff more
