Let me paint a picture of myself for you: I am a 19-year-old female. I am the mechanic's dream client. They think I know absolutely nothing about price & procedures so I'm used to auto service ""experts"" trying to take advantage of me. However, it was at this Midas where I found the worst of 'em. My 'Check Engine' light went on so I took it in to ask them to find out what was wrong. Now, if you were unaware of this, all mechanics have a tool that plugs into your car and gives the code that turned on your 'Check Engine' light. They don't need to do a comprehensive engine check, like the mechanic at Midas suggested (for 150$) Many places will do this for free, so the mechanic here already tried to milk over a hundred bucks out of me. SECONDLY, after they checked my engine, this joker told me that I needed a new timing belt (which is always done with the water pump, amounting to >$800, according to the guy at Midas.) He also said that there was an issue with the mass sensor, antifreeze and spark plugs. All in all, this guy wanted 1200$ out of me after keeping my car for 3 days JUST to check why the check engine light went on. I obviously said no thanks and went somewhere else (Sears.) I told them what the mechanic said he found, which they double checked. Well, to NO surprise, the only issue they spotted was with the spark plugs, which they fixed for under 150$
The check engine light is off and I spent 1000$ less than the slime at Midas wanted me to.
Don't go to Midas, especially not this one.
Pros: none.
Cons: everything.
