Parents Responsibility 6/9/2012

If your children are swimming in the pool and really don't know how to swim or are not familiar with water safety, then it "your" responsibility as a parent to be in the water with them and not rely on the lifeguard to babysit your child. Most of these lifeguards are teens and although they are there to watch the water and any problems, if you see your child in distress, you ultimately should be right there so they do not have a terrifying experience. Especially if she was going down the slide. A little one isn't tall enough or able to balance well enough to do that alone. It's common sense!! more

Lifeguards NOT paying attention to water 7/25/2006

My husband and I took our two children to this pool yesterday. There were four lifeguards on duty. I watched as my daughter went down the slide, panicked, and started going under. The lifeguard at the top of the slide was literally kicked back in his chair talking to someone, the lifeguard that was standing right NEXT to the slide was staring off in the complete opposite direction of the water. I ran up to one of the lifeguards and yelled for him to do something, as he was closer than I was, he did not blow his whistle, or attempt to do anything. I screamed across the pool and finally the lifeguard by the slide jumped in. My daughter was completely terrified. There were four lifeguards on duty, yet NONE of them noticed when a child was going under. The water by the slide is isolated and there should only be ONE person in that area, it should have been extremely easy to spot someone drowning. The lifeguard by the slide should have been IN the water watching people come down, instead of staring off AWAY From the pool. There is no reason at all for that situation to have happened considering the fact there there were FOUR lifeguards standing around the pool. These lifeguards did not seem to take their jobs seriously and I honestly hate to think of what could have happened had I not been paying attention to my child. I would not recommend this pool to anyone until these lifeguards are better trained and realize the importance of their job. more

Micki Krebsbach Pool 4/14/2006

My husband and I only took our daughter to this pool one time and will never go back. We had a horrible experience and even complained to the manager who did not seem to care which to me meant he did not care about the safety of the swimmers at this pool . First, during our visit I did not feel that the lifeguards were monitoring any of the children at all. Most were too busy talking with one another and were letting bigger kids run through the kiddie side knocking over our child several times, as well as a couple of other small children. I did go to the manager because I was afraid for my childs safety and the other little ones wallking around the shallow end. When I discussed my issues with him he flat out told me that he can not make the bigger kids stay out of the shallow end of the pool.If that were the truth then he needed to have lifeguards that would discipline these bigger kids and not allow them to wrestle and run around knocking over small children. more

Cool off in the summer heat! 8/26/2005

This is the best pool in Round Rock! There is a kiddie pool for the little ones and plenty to do for the older kids. The slide is a favorite but it does get slippery so be careful! The price is cheap, the water is clean and clear. The lifeguards are friendly and attentive (I'm a safety freak) so that's a plus! I've never been there when it was really crowded so it's been roomy (no kids jumping on me, etc). Best affordable way to Cool off! Love it! more

A Good Time 8/2/2005

This is a great place to take your young children. They have a parent and tot swim time that is so much fun. We like it because it is uncrowded. Since only kids under 5 are allowed in druing the parent and tot swim, you don't have to worry about your little one getting trampled. The wading and kiddie area is huge. There is a mushroom waterfall and a beach slope pool entrance. They have a turtle and a whale that the kids can crawl on. more
