Future Stylist 10/8/2012

This school is the best. I just started and on my second day the school brought in Geno Stampora who is a awesome motivational speaker. They also brought in the owner of 6 Salon with some of his staff who also graduated from our school. It was the best two hours I have spent in a long time.If you want to be inspired check out Geno's web-site. I know for sure now that I chose the best school. more

Michigan College of Beauty Troy 6/19/2012

I am a current student very close to graduation, and the during the time here in school I have met with other students from the surrounding schools.I have realized that my edcaution and training is far more advanced than others. Our instructors are very well-rounded stylists with years of experiance in the industry. They have given me the tools needed to be succesfull and actually took the time to get to know me and have faith that I will be succesfull. Having instructors that are informative and encouraging has been such a wonderful experiance. I have passion for what I do now and I would suggest to anyone that this is the best school out there. more

ESTHETICS 3/23/2012

Looking back at my first day I cannot believe how much I have accomplished. I graduate today from the Esthetics department, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The amount of information I have learned in the period of 6 months is remarkable. Also the fact that I was able to work on clients, and take what I had learned into action was exciting. I think the thing people need to remember when coming here for a service is that we are students, and are still honing our skills. We do appreciate every single client that comes in because you play a part in helping us reach our goals. The thing that has impacted me the most is how much my instructors took a genuine interest in my success. Whenever anyone needed extra help, they were more than willing to do so. It was like having a second family. I have made memories that will last me forever. Thank you so much for all your encouragement and training! more

life changer 7/15/2011

At the age of 37 with no special skills I thought "that's it, get a job anywhere and work for minimum wage." I thought that was it for my life. Then I thought about beauty school. I've known about MCB since I was a student at Troy HS and my friends and I would go and get our hair and nails done. It was always a pleasant experience and very interesting. And 20 years later i decided to go back and just take a look around. That day changed my life. I was welcomed in, and noticed they took the time to listen to me and see what it was I wanted to do. Since I became a student they have helped me thru many issues. Every person, intructors, admissions and administrators continue to help and support me. I am 6 months away form graduation and this school is the best thing I could have done for myself. MCB thank you for everything, I love you all! more

DESPERATELY SEEKING...A LICENSE? 7/15/2011

I am currently a student at Michigan College of Beauty, and I will be graduating in about four months. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experiences I have had at this school. I researched other programs offerred by other schools and I did not find them to be as thorough or as impressive as what was being offerred at MCB. I read reviews about how student's felt about the training and how client's felt about the services they received in the salon. It was those reviews that made the decision an easy one for me. The training has been exceptional, the talent and competitive spirit cultivated here is bar none, and the relationships I have built will be lifelong. I am grateful I am for the support I have been given during the time I've spent here, the inspiration the program has given me, and the creativity the instructors have encouraged. I have no doubt I will be successful when I leave this school, and I plan to come back to share my success! more

*Best Esthetics program in Michigan* 4/19/2011

I am a recent graduate from the esthetics program. I receved such a thorough education in skin care. i went in knowing tons about skin care already but am sooo much more knowledgable. the teachers are so good. they really care about your education. the only things i can say is that some of the teachers need to change their attitudes towards students, other than that i really enjoyed my experience with this school. i was truly prepared at state boards way above my peers. i am just waiting to recieve a call so i can start working. i would and have already reccomended the esthetics program. more

Worth Much More Than 5 Stars! 1/20/2011

My wife attended Michigan College of Beauty and is a recent graduate. I was very skeptical with the whole idea of spending so much money for a one year education. We toured a number of schools in the area and found that two seemed to be focused more in the retail end of things rather than speak to the education itself.\r We asked to speak to students and were told they cannot be taken away from class. \r I called Michigan College of Beauty and asked to speak to someone in admissions. When the gentleman answered the phone he was able to answer every question I had which was a first in our endeavors. We toured the school and found it to very clean and friendly. Mr. Jim was very informative and gave us the best tour of any school we had been to. We were able to talk to students as well as the manager, school secretary and two instructors. My wife was very excited with all that she had heard and seen. I was very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism Mr. Jim displayed. We didn more

WOW 12/24/2010

I'm in total disbelief of the positive comment!!!! Please believe me when i say this school sucks, the student that wrote the good reviews must have been coached.. I paid attentioned and was truly willing to learn, but honestly if it wasn't for my classmate, friend and my Junior room instructor Ms. Sandra i wouldn't have learned a thing. I'll agree Ms. Rider is a good color instructor if you were fortunate to get her. All i ever got to do was flat iron on all the black clients and color was reserved for the white students but i didn't let it slow me down i was eager to learn so with the help of other student i ended up successful. Don't get me wrong the school has the potential to be great but alot of changes need to be made. If you should decide to attend MCB troy, learn all you can in junior room cause the learning stops there. more

Don't Care 12/1/2010

I have seen too many times where an instructor picks on a certain group of students & nothing is done about it. They don't teach anything about African American hair but half the students are black. These students have asked could they develope a class but the manager said & I quote "We tried but no one signed up for it" but thats funny because all of the other classes are must have classes before you graduate so basicly their saying we will take your money but your not important enough to learn any thing about so just deal with it. So if your African American, Michigan College of Beauty is not for you if you plan on learning any thing about our hair because only a certain group of people are the focus of this school. more

Great School to choose 11/18/2010

My time at Michigan College of Beauty has been a wonderful experience. The whole staff is great from instructors to admissions, they are always willing to go above and beyond to help their students. I have learned a great amount of education at Michigan College of Beauty. All my classes have been very informative and I am confident to go out into the salon business and share what I have learned and excited to show off my talent that the instructors have taught me. more

Read Me 11/15/2010

I am a recent graduate and I have to say that this school was the best decision I ever made. I have a reading and wrighting disability and the staff was extreamy helpful with everything. Any concept I did not understand or was struggling with they would help me out with untill I got it. When I started there I did not even know how to tern on a blow dryer and now today I passed my written exam. I knwo that I have a lot more to learn but atleast I know that I have a good foundation. more

fantastic school 11/6/2010

i am currently enrolled as a cosmetology student here at mcb, and let me tell you this has been the best experience of my life. i learned a lot more than i anticipated. The insrtuctor/student relationship is one on one and personable, so u feel comfortable in asking any type of question you have. they also prepare you well for the "salon enviroment" and working well with clients. for example they have a color class with one of the best colorists as an instructor in the state. i was very pleased with all my classes and instructors. i highly reccomend this school for anybody intersted in cosmetology ;) more

Do not go anywhere else but MCB! :) 11/6/2010

I have attended Michigan College of Beauty this past year (Cosmetology) and I would like to say right away that it was the best thing I have done. When I first started here I didn't know much about hair, just the basics. Having many hairdressers in my family, you would think I would know everything, but no. I have learned SO many different things and many different ways of doing them. Being a pivot point school also was a huge bonus because the way they teach is more effective. I can honestly say that I am confident in what I do now and I HIGHLY recommend this school. I have been taught well by every instructor in this school and they give me my confidence to do well. Whenever you need help an instructor or even a staff member, is more than willing to help which is why I think every student here is comfortable and self assured. Michigan College of Beauty is definitly the school to attend. more

great school for my wife 11/6/2010

My wife just graduated from Michigan College of Beauty and it was the best thing that ever happened to her. She tells me all the time how helpful the instructors are. She goes to take her state board test next week and she isnt even nervous! She has already had 3 job offers! She is so excited about her new career and I just want to thank the school that made her dream come true. THANK YOU! more

Cosmetology course SUCK!!!!!! 10/19/2010

I just graduated from this school and unfortunately i wouldn't recommend attending this school if you have a desire to learn how to do african american hair or any type of extension. Every instructor is different so is the cirriculum for each class. For example the color class cirriculum that i was taught in was totally different from friends that was in another class. You would think the class that is used to prepare you for state boards would be stressfull, however the class i was in was a breeze. If i would have went to the school manager to express my concern she would have told the instructor what i said and if i had that instructor for another class i feared being blackball. So to anyone looking into school please do your research. I wish i would have. more
