Not just for Pizza- the Italian dishes are AMAZING! 2/23/2010

So, I know a lot of people like the pizza at Micheal Angelos, and I agree, it is the best pizza I have had, however, their food is out of this world. I only recently understood where the name comes from- the chef is an artist! Some of my favorites include the gnocchi, the chicken parm, the sole and the grilled calamari. Everything comes in huge portions and is accompanied by sides of pasta or vegetables for a more than reasonable price. I live in a neighborhood that has other ""seafood"" restaurants that have lines out the door for oversalted, overcooked fish when this restaurant has the best seafood dishes in town! The grilled calamari especially is like soft delicious pieces of heaven.... It would be easy to go on and on about how great the food is here and how pleasant and friendly the staff is, but you just have to try it for yourself- you won't be let down! I just ordered take out from there and am glowing as I write this..... Pros: Everything: Seafood, pasta cooked perfectly Cons: haven't found any yet more

Best thin crust in town! 1/22/2010

This is the best spot near Ditmars if you want pizza that's a cut above standard pizzeria fare. The personal pies are just the right size and the variety of fresh, delicious topping will keep you going back for another try. The servers are very professional and friendly. A+ establishment! Pros: friendly service, nice atmosphere, great pizza! Cons: none that I could think of more

best thin crust pizza ever! 8/6/2009

Best Italian food in Astoria. Delivery is great, but dining in is out of this world. Not only is there a patio in back, but the service is delightful. Go...Tonight. It's damn good! more

Love it 4/21/2008

Been here many times, fantastic thin-crust pizza, Good wine list and not too pricey. Everything is super fresh, we almost always order whatever the special is and have never been disappointed. We've always had fantastic service and usually get a free Sambuca shot at the end of the night. Highly recommended. more

The Rudest Place I Have Been To !!! Dont Go here unless you have NO self esteem!!!!! 4/10/2008

Never before have I been to a place and treated with such disrespect !\r Upon arriving we were greeted at the door and asked just 2?\r Replied yes and were told to just wait a minute while he set the table by the window. In the middle of setting the table, while we waited, another couple walked in and were given our table and my wife and I were moved to a table in the back. OK grin and bear it . Than we wait a little longer because another couple was in a hurry.Ok now getting a little upset. We too had some place to get to .\r Than after calling our order across the counter ( He called to us ,classy for a place so paticular where they keep moving where they have you sit) ,and they heard us only order pizza we were told to move to yet another table ! The waiter said our 2nd table was just for those ordering dinner. Hello! we were originally given the ""pizza"" table and were relocated !! .This guy actually expected us to move a THIRD TIME! We did. To a place up the block. And the service was great! Only had to be seated once.\r And the waiter actually had a personality. \r Pros: IF YOU LIKE TO BE TREATED LIKE A DOG PIECE OF MEAT THIS THE PLACE! Cons: RUDE & RUDE & RUDE & RUDE & RUDE & RUDE & RUDE & RUDE & RUDE & RUDE more

Real Italian Food! 10/9/2007

Great little place with a nice full menu of authentic Italian food (not like the Ameri-Italian stuff they offer up at Arthur Ave). Fresh is the word! Our pizza was superb and the toppings were generous! I will bring all my friends here! If you are looking for the best pizza in Astoria look no more! You found it! - Brian Kastel more

Favorite Italian in Astoria 6/16/2007

This is my favorite Italian place outside of Arthur Ave. and La Streghe in SOHO. The chef is always ready with a hello and fresh ingredients. They make their own sausage, soups (spinach is amazing), and just about everything else (except some pastas). The pizza is great, especially the traditional super thin-crust. But, if you want to really treat yourself to greasy cheesy goodness, get the sausage roll. It's also the only eggplant parmesan I'll eat. The pastas, meats and fresh shell fish or regular fish are also fantastic. All the herbs are in planters on the counter.\r \r It's not pricey either. Pros: Great food, attentive and quick service, good prices more

Italian like pizza 4/12/2007

Nice Quaint pizzaria, reminded us of Italy out back. The pizza is very good and so was the pasta. The owner is very friendly and accomidating. Pros: pizza Cons: parking more

Don't let the neon scare you away! 11/16/2006

MA's is just steps away from the N/W and has reliably good thin pizza. The front room is small, and right by the open kitchen, but the service is still pleasant and the food is good. In the back you have more room, and the garden is open in summer. Cheap-ish decent wine list, too. I've also had the pizza delivered, and while it was good, it wasn't the same. more
