The Michael's stores are a funny breed. Not every store has exactly the same merchandise. If you can't find what you're looking for at one, you can check at another.
At the one in Santee, they have a wider selection of unfinished wood projects and more in stock than I have found at other are Michael's stores. Their cake decorating department was lacking. I was looking for some surfer figures. All they had were soccer players and a couple of zoo animals. None of the shelves were empty, so I took this to mean they weren't normally in stock.
They do have at least two aisles dedicated to scrapbooking, and they were extremely well-stocked. This week they had a sale on decorative-cutting scissors, 2 for $1.
They have an extensive framing selection and some ready-made artwork to choose from, and their art supplies are a good buy, particularly if they're on sale.
