This airport is a mad house. You can easily get lost. Not much good food here either. more

Not bad... 6/6/2004

I travel internationally approximately 30 times per year and most of it is through Miami. Overall it is easy to navigate and has many moving walkways for the long hauls. The longest I have taken to go through check-in and security is 40 minutes....usually about 10 minutes. Immigration is fast and smooth, never more than 20 minutes. Customs has always been a wave through. Best is an Admiral's club before security. I check in there very quickl. Pros: efficient, easy to navigate, Admirals club more

Example of how not to build an airport 11/24/2003

This airport is terrible. Immigration takes too long and is too invasive. The terminals are spread too widely and there is no good mode of transportation to other terminals for people who have to make connecting flights. I was told to walk to D terminal for a flight, only to find out (after the 20 minute walk) that I need to go back to B terminal to catch the flight. There are no good restaurants inside, and it's not easy to catch the hotel buses outside. I will try at all costs to avoid this airport in the future. more

MIA leaves you missing with no action 9/3/2003

I have traveled to many airports in the world and MIA falls into the very worst airport I have ever been in. As the gateway to South American they feel they can treat people rudely and no one will complain. It has taken me up to 4 hours to clear immigration. I no longer book direct international flights (it is faster to have a layover than wait for immigration in MIA). Once you clear immigration don't expect the airport to make any sense, it is poorly labeled. There are not even signs at the baggage carosells that tell which flight the lugage has come from! If you finally escape the airport have fun with the lack of clear signs directing you to South beach (the same goes with finding the airport). Best of luck at MIA. Pros: it is an airport Cons: lack of signage, immigration more

  • In Short
Although MIA has the most international flights of any airport in the country, it can still seem small. There's only one horseshoe-shaped terminal (another is in the planning...
