MEZBAAN IS A RESTAURANT IN WHICH IS AT MY NUMBER ONE SPOT OF ALL INDIAN RESTUARANTS IN THE SILICON VALLEY. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TALKING ABOUT. I GO THERE FREQUENTLY AND WHENEVER I DO, I ALWAYS GET THE BEST SERVICE AND THE BEST FOOD. FOR EVERYONE WHO IS DEBATING TO GO TO MEZBAAN OR NOT, I WOULD DEFINETELY SAY GO! Me with few of our friends and family decided to go to this place. Just to give an idea about the horrible service, it took us 2 and 1/2 hours to complete the entire meal. This was when there were only a couple of tables ocupied.\r \r The guys made a mess of the order. We had ordered for two appetisers, one of the appetisers came only after the main course while the second of the appetisers was totally forgotten and never came. \r \r The drinks took more than 45 minutes to be served. Mind you we had just ordered for 5 drinks out of which 2 were just beers and the other were just cocktails.\r \r The food taste was aweful, the portions of the food they served were too little, the service was discourteous. The person serving the food never cared even about telling us what he was serving to whom. They just came to our table and start dumping food.\r \r Oops!!! forgot to mention, the chicken and the tomato soups that were ordered arrived not only after an hour but they were served cold and salty. \r \r While making our payment, the appetiser that was never served was also added in the check. \r \r I would recommend anyone not to visit this place for:\r 1. Bad Service (it takes too long for them to serve what you have ordered for)\r 2. Discourteous Service (they try to charge you for whatever you have not ordered)\r 3. Aweful food (they normally run out of the basic things in Indian Cuisine)\r 4. This restaurant is just simply great!! I've been to a lot of restaurants around the bay, and believe me, I've never ate food that was so delicious. The right amount of herbs and spices were added to give the perfect flavor. I ordered their speciality which was the Chicken-e-Mezbaan, and oh boy, that was wonderful. I mean Indian food is suppose to have a little bit of spice and thats exactly what it had. To anyone who is looking for great service, great food, and great atmosphere, go to Mezbaan. I love the food, the Indian music video and the great service! My boy friend and I have to go there every weekend. We always start with Daal Soup and Keema Naan. Their Mango Magrita is my favorite frozen drink. Main course we love are chicken marsala/tendori and spiced okura. We also try to order a new dish everytime we go and we always have a nice surprise! The waiters always have big smiles and serve food on your plate. I havent' been to any Indian restaurent offers this kind of great food and service. You must try for yourself. more

Mezbaan is a great restaurant. They had food that was tasteful. I recently went there with my co-workers for dinner and we had chicken-e-mezbaan and tandoori and masala lamb chops. Those were the best indian food I've ever tasted. The price was perfect. The music on the other hand was a little loud. Besides that, this restaurant is great for any occasion. Good food and great service! No complaints. I went there for lunch buffet, it was packed with people so we had to wait for 3-5 minutes. There were many items to choose from and food was good. Even though there were many people to be served but waiters were at their best. more

This is an excellent Indian restaurant. I live nearby and eat here often.Their food is very tasty and service is great. One of the great Indian buffet in town. Great quality at a reasonable price. Specializes in on North Indian food. Try Chicken Curry or Chicken Tikka Masala or simply their dal. The place is located in a nice area of Santa Clara (Rivermark). The decor is real bad ... Looks like they spent a lot of money ... But horrible taste as far as decor goes ... The staff is nice but not trained ... They are nice people but lack ""waiter"" skills. The food is ok ... Try the Chicken Mezbaan ... It's like tandoori chicken with gravy. Not the bulk buffet style toned-down Americana Indian where they herd folks through rows of steam tables. The food is delicately prepared, and the service quite good. It's a tad more expensive and the portions a bit smaller and the menu all a la carte. You won't find slammer-plate thalis here for dinner. The digs are fairly new and the environment appealing. Good to take a date, and while the Punjabi MTV-like videos are cheesy, they can be entertaining when your partner isn't. The bad reviews by some and the higher prices and smaller portions reduce the crowds at this place. Generous and comfortable seating. Decent washrooms. When myself and a group of friends went there for dinner, we recieved excellent service, loved the Indian Music and the quality of the food. ... pretty much sums up the disappointing offering of this restaurant with sorry-looking ambience. For takeaway, I ordered a full tandoori chicken -- expecting a full bird, because I like white meat and my dog likes dark -- and got a dish consisting of four leg quarters! The dog had a feast. Okay, I did try one piece of chicken and the dish would be better named Charred Chicken. The dish had neither the standard Tandoori spices nor appeared to have been prepared in the requisite clay oven (i.e., Tandoor). I went to this retaurant last week with friends. The food was horrible. Full of red hot peppers and oil. It was not fresh, and the chef does not know what he is doing. I sent shami kabab back because they felt like a rubber. The waiter still charged us for it. When I asked him to remove it from the bill, he came back saing he will charge for half since we tried it.
