Meyer & Depew Company

When we moved into a three-bedroom house, we found we needed a new boiler. Meyer & Depew were able to get the job done quickly, but we found the first floor was unreasonably cold. After a week we got one of their experts in, who concluded the installers had neglected to bleed the air out of the radiators. We were considering having Meyer & Depew install a central A/C at a cost of $35K. The proposal called for separate units in the attic and basement to cool the second and first floors. To spare our hardwood floors, the first-floor ductwork would all have to be routed through walls, which would require repair and repainting. We assumed the equipment was from Carrier, but when we looked carefully at the proposal, it was instead manufactured by none other than Meyer & Depew. We have no problem with house-brand toilet paper, but house-brand central A/C is a quite different matter. We then turned to GRC Mechanical of South Hackensack. Where Meyer & Depew had sent a salesman, GRC sent their chief installer to do the estimate. He pointed out that we only needed a single unit in the attic, as ductwork for the first floor could be routed through closets. Ony one small section of wall had to be opened up and repaired. The equipment would be the top of the Carrier line: Infinity Platinum with continuously variable speed, Total cost: $23,020. I would not bother posting this review were it not that Meyer & Depew neglected to file for a permit for our boiler. A town plumbing inspector told us he would fail it for using flexible instead of rigid gas piping. Repeated calls to Meyer & Depew resulted only in blaming the department of buildings, which we know has been very responsive. Use someone else. more

I needed replacement of my a/c unit during a very busy time this summer. The response from Meyer & Depew was great given it was a very busy time of the year.....and during a heatwave. Meyer & Depew came out quickly to give us our options. Frank B and Victor A removed the old system (located in our finished attic...with carpeting)! without ANY damage to the carpet or walls! They installed the new system the same way. Would highly recommend these guys. They were so quiet I hardly even knew they were there. Replaced the entire system in a day and a half. more

Ivo A was the technician assigned to perform the yearly maintenance and repair of my 30-year-old Central AC system. He did great job of going beyond to ensure my everything worked. I had previously diagnosed the broken part in the rooftop compressor and he did not doubt me as other repair personnel have done. Ivo worked to verify the problem and then expertly fixed it. He then ran the system through a full test while being a good conversationalist - he explained everything that I asked and did not get annoyed as my inquisitiveness. I really enjoyed knowing all that was happening and he let me assist when I volunteered where could speed up his repair efforts. After we were done, Ivo took extra time to help me measure out the space for when I need to purchase a replacement Central AC unit though he gets no sales bonus for this added work. I will ask for Ivo by name to assist in the yearly checkup of the system next year. more

These gentlemen just left my house and I could not be happier with the work they did. They were kind and considerate and left the house clean and orderly. I know it was a tough job in a small hot attic, but they were true professionals and took it all in stride. I would not hesitate to recommend your company. more

John W and Mike M had to be very creative and work around quite a few obstacles installing a replacement A/C unit. The previous installation had some challenges as well as confined space to work in. The new installation is very professional. The work was areas were kept clean and left in great shape. They not only did a good job installing this new equipment but provided better access for the next time this unit need service. Well Done! more

I needed to replace my furnace system right away in this very cold spell of Jan. 2018 & AC, was thankfully recommended Meyer & Depew, whom I contacted right away. The next day both a tech evaluator & later an engineer/admin. came to assess... They had a brilliant offer of a FREE furnace & installation with purchase of AC/Installation. I agreed then & there. Two days later, the crew of 3 well-experienced & super amiable pro's arrived early, worked all day, were informative, polite, helpful..... AND now I have a modern, efficient system that will last for a good long time. I don't hesitate to recommend them! more

Our furnace went out the coldest day of winter so far this year. We called Meyer and Depew and they saw us the same day. Figured out what the problem was and had everything installed two days later.
