This is the place to go if you are looking for a map. Road maps, topos for hiking, nautical charts, decorative old maps, globes, and more. The staff are polite and can help you hunt down any map they may not have. Even if you're not currently looking for a map Metsker's is a great place to visit. Plenty of interesting things to check out. It will rival your favorite bookstore. more

Where to Go When You Don't Know Where You Are 9/1/2005

Metzker Maps is a map store. They carry maps of everything. Local maps. Regional maps. Maps of foreign cities and countries. Maps of parks and trails. If you are the type who is curious about places and how things are laid out, you will be like a kid in a candy store here. they can help with nearly everything, other than getting your husband to actually read the maps once you are lost. more

Moved, but still Metskers 8/21/2005

Now that this shop has moved from Pioneer Square to the "Sanitary Public Market" I believe it will actually be noticed a little more, and probably get more even more business. I love that there is an entire store dedicated to nothing but maps and map related items, and very much like a bookstore you can get a little lost in the different kinds of maps, map games and buy a t-shirt to remember it by. more

Map it! 8/20/2005

This store focuses mainly on maps and its relationship to travel. All the usual travel book are available (ie:Lonely Planet). They also have a great selection of atlases. Where this store shines is in its map collection. There are maps for everything and everywhere. They also have a nice collection of globes and sell maps that are appropriate learning tools for children. The staff is friendly and helpful. They give out a lot of directions to tourists instead of telling them to buy a map. If you can't make it to their retail store visit them on line. more

Need a Map - They Have It! 8/19/2005

Metsker Maps has just about every map you can imagine. I have purchased world maps, hiking maps, street maps and reprints of antique maps. They have tried to help me hunt down an obscure map and given sound advice on which map would best suit my purpose. The store is interesting to browse in, too. Several times I have purchased a map that I didnt' even know I needed when I first entered the store. more
