I had a great experience, under the circumstances. I made a same day appointment and was surprised by the willingness to fulfill my unscheduled request. The staff was friendly and accommodating,from beginning to end. Thank you for such professional caring services, without judgement or shaming, so needed for women in my predicament. more

Unfortunately I had to visit the clinic beginning of feb 2015 for an early abortion. The procedure was simple and follow up was yesterday without complications.. Metropolitan is a regular clinic with good doctors who know what they are doing and staff that cares. Girls walked me through every question. I did over-read too and was hesitant but I should have trusted my friend and book an appointment earlier. Too stressful if you read as much as I did. more

I visited the clinic in 2014. Clean environment and the doctors seemed very experienced. The procedure was quick and I filed all instructions given. Would definitely recommend as an abortion clinic if you need to visit one. more

I actually had a good experience while I was getting the procedure done. Minus the fact that while I waiting to go get the surgery and the girl who took my weight and other info information was telling another employee how she had the flu and the office made her come in. The problem started two months after my abortion. I received a bill for the procedure. I had insurance and they verified that I was covered before I went into the office . Only to find out that they only charge 450 for people who pay cash. If you do not pay cash they bill your insurance for everything $2500 for Anesthesia, $1500 for the abortion, $350 for just going to the facility plus other cost blood work, urine test, etc.. ? But if you pay cash you only pay $450 ? I had to pay my coinsurance fee. They never made me aware of any of this. Which is ridiculous. This place scams you. While talking to the billing lady on the phone she was very rude. I'm not proud to say this but this was not my first abortion I had one when I was younger and I never had this problem the previous place I went to. What was the point of me even using my insurance? It turns out to be the same out of pocket cost, plus using my insurance. more

Short visit and suggested follow up which I did.. don't understand what people are looking for when we are in difficult situations such as looking to have an abortion. I read stuff that wasn't helpful, that's why I write this.. Finally decided to call and got my appointment. Nothing more to say. Support from my best friend was more important. Would definitely recommend. more

Clean and caring 3/30/2012

My private doctor referred me to Metropolitan and I must admit that I was reluctant at first to go to a clinic but when I got there I was so impressed with the facility. The surroundings were clean and welcoming. The entire staff from the doctors, counselors and nurses were knowledgable, supportive and kind which made this difficult decision less painful. The doctor and counselor spent as much time as neede addressing my questions and concerns. I also chose to return there for the two week check up and again was treated with respect and warmth. I would highly recommend Metropolitan to anyone should this need arise. Pros: null Cons: null more

horrific 2/29/2012

Metropolitan medical center ruined my life. They were very friendly at first but its been hell ever since i have had the procedure. I didn't actually have an abortion, i miscarried and had the excess fetus removed by a D & C. Since then I have had major complications in my uterus such as sharp pains and they scarred me physically and emotionally. I tried to request my medical records from this dump, but they refused to even respond to my request from me or my doctor. Also, i have read many articles about this place having "unsanitary conditions and poor infection control", I also read that they had dirty tools that they stored in the same drawer as they did supplies like light bulbs and thick layers of dust and dirt and dried up blood under the furniture. It was also closed down a few times over the past years for harming patients by neglecting their issues. One girl even ended up in a coma. These place is a living hell and anyone that considers stepping foot in it will suffer great consequences. If you need to go to any clinic i would recommend Pilgrim Medical Center instead, they actually follow laws and don't hurt their patients. Pros: null Cons: null more

I had a surgical abortion and was told my insurance would cover a significant amount of the procedure, yet that was a complete lie (I would later find out my insurance covered absolutely nothing). Additionally, 6 months after the procedure, I continue to feel a continuous sharp pain where implantation occurred. But, I guess that's the price you pay. more

Finally someone cares! 11/22/2010

After being cared for as just another patient at other places, I was aggravated. It seemed that they only cared to make themselves money. Because my friends recommended it, I went to Metropolitan Medical Associates. Everyone there, the doctors and nurses, were extremely kind and respectful. Not only were they good, qualified attendants, but they actually knew what they were doing! They also have helped me make hard decisions and counseled me all the way through. When no one else was there, they were. This clinic is amazing! more

Prior to coming to Metropolitan Medical Associates I was planning to go to a Planned Parenthood. The staff at the Planned Parenthood were extremely rude and on top of that wanted to charge $700 for their services. They were reluctant to help me or make the process any easier for me knowing that I am a full time student, do not work a full time job, and have no medical insurance. more

Prior to coming to Metropolitan Medical Associates I was planning to go to a Planned Parenthood. The staff at the Planned Parenthood were extremely rude and on top of that wanted to charge $700 for their services. They were reluctant to help me or make the process any easier for me knowing that I am a full time student, do not work a full time job, and have no medical insurance. Very distraught over my experience there, I thankfully came across Met. Med. Associates in an online search. I called and spoke to staff who were extrememly helpful. They were able to answer all of my questions and if someone couldn't, they put someone on the line who could. When I went in for my scheduled appointment I was taken in to start the process in a timely manner, did not have to wait long at all. I felt like it was a judgement free place because everyone is there for the same reasons. The staff never once questioned my decision or tried to sway me into chosing a different route. The staff was very attentive and always asking if I had any questions, eager to help, which is always nice. The cost was extremely reasonable ($390) with everything included: lab work, procedure, follow-up, etc. I think this is a great place for women to go when they need services and if they have any questions at all regarding abortions and pregnancy. more

I went there for a termination and felt very comfortable. The staff was very kind and they made a difficult situation easier. I researched other clinics and felt better coming here knowing that the doctors are board certified gynecologists. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone. more
