I held a one year lease with Metro Investments from 2009 to 2010. Here are my concerns with this business:
1. I moved in to find plumbing issues and discussed these with the management. They scheduled a maintenance man to come and fix the toilet in September 2009. I came home around 8pm to find my apartment door wide open after the maintenance man forgot to close and lock the door. Metro Investments closes at 5pm, meaning my apartment door was open for at least 3 hours.
2. The maintenance man actually broke the toilet even further and the toilet was never fixed throughout the entire lease.
3. In October 2009, the maintenance man left his ring of keys (labeled for every apartment that Metro Investments owns) in the lobby of the building. I contacted Bruce Field to return the keys and he was unprofessional and rude to me. I asked him what he planned to do about the security issues in the building. He raised his voice to ask me, ""What do you want?""
4. During the winter months, I complained several times that the heat was not working. ""Heat"" was included in my rent agreement and Bruce Field insisted that I was lying. I have several pictures on thermometers in my apartment that show the apartment to be at 54 and 61 degrees, well below the state law of 67 degrees. I called the Shorewood Building Inspector and left a voicemail about the issue, but my call was never returned.
Metro Investments is putting people's lives in danger. They are unwilling to maintain a livable temperature and are irresponsible with keys and security issues.
