In one appointment, Sigel made up for all of the bad haircuts and unresponsive hair stylists in my past. And then Sue topped it off with her amazing customer service and friendliness. I've never had a specific hair stylist before but now I do and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Sigel really listened to me and didn't make me feel bad for not putting tons of time into my hair style each day. He figured out a way to give me what I wanted while also making sure it would work with my very wavy hair and my laziness when it comes to styling my hair. :) And he entertained me with stories of his trips and family all the while. Even trying hard, I can't think of a single thing they could have done differently. It was an amazing experience all around. Keep that spark, Sigel and Sue! And continue passing it on to everyone you meet. more

Love Love the color of my hair 9/23/2011

I was referred to Crystal by a friend and she did a wonderful job on coloring my hair. I wanted to cover my gray yet look natural and she listened and asked questions and picked exactly the right color! I could tell Crystal has a passion for coloring hair which exposes her excellent talent. Cryistal was professional yet personable and I will continue to see her for my hair coloring needs. Color and atmosphere 9/20/2011

It was great experience. I started in the cafe ordering a lattee and listening to live music, wow that was a treat. I moved on to my stylist and she was very professional. We discussed colors trying to match it to my hair color, to look natural. My hair color turned out wonderful. The whole process was surprisingly quick, since I have a lot of hair. Of course Sue or Sigel are checking to be sure everything is what you want, but they really didn't need to since I can tell it is wonderful. Best cut and color in 3 years! 9/19/2011

I have tried at lest 4 other places in town all were recommended, most are much more expensive but this is the only cut & color I have been happy with thus far! more

I have been to MetrOasis twice now and have had a wonderful experience each time. Christina was very courteous, friendly, and professional. The rest of the staff also makes you feel very welcome and are always willing to offer advice. Looking forward to another great experience. more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENE with customer service/ lack of!! 7/18/2011

I went here last year and had an appt. I was getting my hair highlighted by a student. The owner gave me to another student because the 1st one had another appt come in. Then the 2nd girl had a make up client come in and I was moved again. Well believe it or not I felt like a peice of shxx. I felt so un important and was on the verge of tears falling. I was sooooooo mad when I left there. My hair was pretty, but service was horrid. I was there going thru all this for 4 hours!!!!!!!!!!! I was miserable. Don't treat your clients like nothing. I was there first and you could of gave the next appt to someone else! Horrible experience. My eyes were tearing up. more

The very BEST school in Alaska!!!! 8/23/2010

I just finished the Esthetician program at MetrOasis. I had the best experience at this school. I have had my hair care license for 10 years from another school in town and I am SO glad I chose here to attend. Sigel and Sue have restored my faith within the beauty industry. Not only are they extremely knowledgable and teach you so much, but they are the kindest and most honest couple I have ever met. If you choose this school, or are coming as a customer you will have the most professional and best experience possible. You will not regret it! more

Amazing Beauty!!!! 8/14/2010

I have been jumping from salon to salon for years now, just unable to find my true home. I recently went to MetrOasis not really expecting anything different. All I have to say is i WILL NOT go anywhere else ever again. I am use to having so many diff people do my foils that I wasnt scared. I was scheduled with Trista, the NEWEST student, and I will never go anywhere else. My hair has never looked this good and the service has never been that amazing. I would recommend this beauty school (SALON) to anyone and everyone. more

This place is a GEM! 5/13/2010

I went to MetrOasis today for the first time, based solely on their website and reviews I found online. I was just looking for something ""different"" to pamper myself, and I was more than pleasantly surprised! I've never been in such a unique, eclectic, warm, professional salon! Sue, Sigel and their students run a first class establishment! You end up getting double the service with the students wanting to do their best and Sue and Sigel mingling and supervising, making sure the students and customers know all the options for the results they're looking for. I was a little nervous about letting someone I'd never had contact with before do my foils and cut - but this is probably the BEST color job I have ever had! I will definitely be back! I'm looking forward to seeing the student progress and grow! Pros: unique, warm, welcoming more

Just finished the Esthetics Program! 4/11/2010

I just finished my 350 hrs for the Esthetics program and it has been one of the most funnest, educational experiences ever. Before school started one person tried to alter my decision about coming here and I'm SO happy I made my own choice and ignored her. I have learned so much beyond eshtetics that I could take with me for the rest of my life. Not only did I learn esthetics, I was taught things about business ethics, procedures, laws, how to deal with different people, and so much more. I'm 22, I have my degree from UAA and have worked at a few professional offices, I have never learned this much in such little time. I honestly wish the program was longer! This school is AWESOME and EVERYONE from the students to the clients LOVE Sigel and Sue. There are some people with different opinions but the school isn't your average school. It is very creative, very open, and things are done a bit different. If you want to go somewhere boring, lifeless, with lazy directors, go to the other school...I'm pretty sure they're looking for people! Pros: Fun, met new friends, GREAT advice, awesome programs! more

Style with Style 4/8/2010

This is a unique establishment with a lot of personality. Which is a style that works for me; I've been going there since I returned to AK in 2006. Went in for my 3rd highlight with current student Liz S., who is by the way, a color superstar. I am all shades of particular about how I want my hair, and kind of a neurotic customer to begin with and she and Sue always make me feel welcome, listen closely to what I want and deliver. Liz does great work and makes what could be a tedious and/or perilous procedure more like a day at the spa with friends. Pros: value, friendly, quirky atmosphere Cons: they have limited space, embrace it or go elsewhere more

Great place to chill, and save some money. 11/18/2009

I have had the best highlights here, some great facials, and if I ever get the nerve, I'm going to have my Brazilian was done here. Not this week though. I usually pay about half of what I do in the expensive salons and most of the time the work is even better. Pros: Great service, low prices, fun students. Cons: I eventually have to leave. more

Great inexpensive place 3/18/2009

From the time the phone is answered to the time you are finished with your appointment, everything and everybody is porfessional and courteous! The facials are awesome! Ashley, a student stylist, is a natural and I have been using her ever since! Pros: Fantastic students! Cons: Not open on Monday more
