Bad cleaning 12/13/2011

Kind of a shame when you read a review and you notice the only good reviews MUST have be written by the owner or office manager. They sound like commericals. My guess would be the office manager. Did anyone else notice that they promoted the other offices owned by the same person in a totally different region? How would those 2 reviewers even know how the other cleaning staff works? more

Spectacular Home Cleaning Service !!! 10/29/2010

Merry Maids of Stoneham, MA is a Godsend! I couldn't agree more with happy2bme2010 ! People will always express the negative, but hardly express positive. Well, I can speak for myself, my family and some friends of mine...we LOVE Merry Maids of Stoneham, MA. The girls are hardworking, dedicated & professional. Nothing is perfect in life and home cleaning is probably everyone's least favorite activity- but these girls really give their best effort to pleasing customers. I have never been more satisfied with other cleaning services before Merry Maids. The office staff, as well, are a delight to deal with ! The girls and office members give their all- it shows in every aspect. They really live up to being the Nation's #1 home cleaners! I have heard the same about Lawrence, MA and Manchester, NH- I think they may be owned by the same owner. Either way- HIGHLY reccomended! : ) more

Awesome Professional Clean ! 10/25/2010

I am sure everyone has negative experiences with companys and negativity will almost always prompt a review. Those of us that are pleased with a company may not even think to give a review. The world surely needs more positivity : ) Well, my experience is that myself and many others I have known have had wonderful experiences with Merry Maids- for MANY years. I cannot speak for any other area- other than the 3 Merry Maids that are in my area. Those would be Stoneham, Lawrence & Manchester, NH. I would highly recommend either to anyone looking for quality, thorough, dependable and no risk home cleanings. One of the main problems of getting a house cleaner is trusting someone you do not know. Independent cleaners may be slightly cheaper, but the security of a company like Merry Maids backing those individuals is worth the extra money. Peace of mind is priceless. They take all the work out of worrying. They are fully bonded, insured, do background checks, drug screening, training, uniformed and take care of all taxes/paperwork. Many people don't realize- as I recently found out- hiring an independent cleaner causes more hassles than what you may save. You actually have to file taxes for them, or else it is considered a slave-like situation. I know! Shocking, but true. more

Think Twice 1/12/2009

Where I would not agree that first time cleanings are more than triple what an independant would charge (independant meaning an 'under the table' employee perhaps?), I would definitely agree otherwise when it comes down to the Merry Maids service. I was not impressed with the service, as well. I used MM two times before cancelling my service to go with a cleaning girl recommended by a friend. I did not like the over-use of cloths throughout my home nor did I care for the idea of the dirty sponges being used which were obviously used for each house cleaned by MM. EEEWWW! Perhaps the staff was not fluent in English, but they were firnedly and attentive and not abusive with my furniture. In fact, one woman groomed my carpet with the vaccuum; but again, as mentioned, it was done with a beat-up machine. The product was second rate; they did NOT use a disinfectant in my bathroom or kitchen which was surprising. Overall, I felt that this service gave an illusion of being clean as oppossed to actually thoroughly cleaning (ie"" sanitizing and disinfecting). Pros: Flexible schedule, Friendly office staff Cons: products do not disinfect, rush job more

Expensive, below average service, bad equipment, broke my furniture, good customer service 12/31/2006

I think I agree to the 7.4 rating. I would rate this service as sub-par and give it a 6 on a scale of 10. The level of services (what they clean, how they clean, time to total cleaning, scheduling, how good of a job they do and how particular they are, how careful they are with your furniture, the kind of products they use, etc) was below average but prices for 1st time cleaning were almost 3 times what someone would normally charge. The bi-weekly cleaning is ~$100 compared to the $60-$80 for the independant (!30% more expensive) operators. They also use thei rown products which I am not too big of a fan. They equipment they used (vaccum, steamers, etc) was old and something I would never use in a home. The people cleaning my house did not speak English very well which I can deal with but for some folks, this can be a downer. The worst part is that they broke my bathroom door and I am in the process of dealign with it. They were DEFINATELY NOT careful with some of the furniture which was not pleasant. Pros: Customer service, scheduling, insured and can come back if yuo are not satisfied Cons: Below average service, bad equipment, no one speakes good english except the office manager, I found them rough with my furniture, crappy products more
