I have done business with this shop for years and have found them to be friendly and honest,that is some thing thatâ??s hard to fined these days more

I was desperate for someone to repair my electric chainsaw on a Sat. morning after a storm blew down some huge branches. The guy at Merriam Hardware took about five minutes and it was good as new. AND he only charge me a couple of bucks - I bought a quart of oil because I felt I needed to add something to the till. My comment to him was ""Much cheaper than a husband."" Give these people a try for repairs of mowers or chainsaws!\r \r more

I took my mower in for a tune-up, and after three weeks was called and they wanted to charge me more than twice the agreed-upon price. I had specifically told them to advise me of any increases (for parts and additional labor) and they just chose not to. In my attempts to work something out (I was willing to meet them in the middle on price) I was hung up on twice, threatened, stonewalled, and then sent a letter saying they were going to sell my mower if I didn't pay the full amount, plus additional storage charges. One of their defenses was that they've been in business for years and years...I'm kind of surprised they've managed to do that with the way I was treated - maybe I was the exception to the rule. Regardless, I will never go back there, and encourage anyone who has an option to go to another hardware store. In my opinion they don't deserve to be in business if this is how they go about it. more
