Best

I am a registered nurse. Dr. Meredith listens, understands, and is compassionate. The staff always gives prompt response. My husband and I love this doc.

Worst

The office manager/receptionist needs to learn now to show warmth and concern for the patients. As it is, she is cool, distant, and she pushes the patients away.

Worst Receptionist, Unfriendly Staff, Money Makers 3/3/2009

Generally, patients do not visit a doctor just for fun. When they go to the doctor they are sick and not feeling well. I not only deserve, but expect respect and a friendly smile when I go. The staff is rude, in a hurry, and seem to be in a bad mood. On top of that, don't expect a doctor to ever call you back, even for test results. If you question anything, you have to ""make an appointment."" I have to find my own answers on the Internet, which to be honest, do a better job diagnosing me. more

AWESOME DR.S & STAFF ""THE BEST"" 12/3/2008

I don't know who these people are talking about when I read these 2 negative reviews. I have been going here for 11 yrs & this is as close to heaven as your gonna get. My Dr. spends as much time as needed with me, she was the one who diagnosed me with a major heart problem, she jumps on every issue that I have and covers everything for my benefit. She never leaves anything left undone.\r I know they are alot busier than they used to be, but I personally think that's because they are so damn good.\r I know for a fact that I have referred at least 20 people over the past yrs. As far as the staff goes, they are awesome. Friendly, professional, at least half of them have been there as long as I have and they are damn near family.\r You compare this staff and Dr.s to others and see the rude people you get. I just went to a male specialist and literally talk about in & out. I waited in waiting room 10min., waited in the exam room 65, YES, I said 65 minutes. Dr. came in asked me 4 questions. I undressed. He came back in the room and was literally in the room for maybe 5 minutes, asked me two more questions and left.\r I am not complaining he was a good Dr. and I just think he knew what he was doing. I would not want that Dr. to tell me how to do my job. I know what I am doing & I'm sure he does too.\r Maybe you just caught them on a shorthanded day, when maybe one of those HUMANS that work in there was out sick or had an emergency. Afterall, they have a life too. Maybe there was a temp nurse, or front desk person. And if you are that unhappy, then hey, it's good that you got out of there and one of the people that I referred can get in, since they are not taking any new patients. By all means get out & make room for them, I know they would appreciate it. Pros: THEY TRULY CARE Cons: NONE more

Lack of Organization & Unfriendly Staff 11/4/2008

I have been a patient here for about 2 years now. I'm in the office regularly because I have hypothyroidism. The last time I was there, it was to have my levels rechecked. I was told my levels were high, but when I asked what they were previously I was told, ""I don't know"". It would make sense to me that if I'm there for a follow up that you would know what the levels were before so that you can compare to where they are now. \r A couple of visits before the last, I waited in the exam room over an hour. I was about ready to leave when the nurse came in and told me she was sorry it took so long. She was running behind because she had a sick child. I can understand that, but I think it would've been nice if someone would've come in and told me that she was running behind and asked if I wanted to wait or reschedule. This has become a common issue where they are running late for their appointments, but don't you be late because then they'll make you reschedule. I have also heard the staff talking about patients, even heard them make remarks about me while I was waiting (for over an hour) to be seen. The latest issue is that I had another follow up appointment scheduled and when I asked if I needed lab work, I was told someone would get back to me. Well, no one ever did, so I canceled my appointment. Then they wouldn't refill my prescription because I canceled my appointment. So I told them I would be happy to reschedule if someone would kindly let me know if I had to get lab work done and supply me with the paperwork to do so. Lastly, if you are NOT a vegetarian I don't recommend using this office. When it was determined that I had hypothyroidism, they told me they would talk to me about my diet and nutrition. Well, they kept telling me that I didn't need animal protein to survive and they seem to be pushing the vegetarian diet. I happen to believe that the human body was built for animal protein consumption. Pros: location Cons: wait time, quality of care, lack of professionalism more

There are Better Practices in the Area 5/23/2008

I have been going to Western Wake Medical Assoc(s) for several years and received great service early on. Now they seem to be in a ""rush"" to get you in and out the door. Their patient load is overwhelming them to the point where the patient has become a like cog on an assembly line. Get 'em in, get 'em out - FAST!!! Just remember that for them it's all about revenue!! The faster they move you out, means more patients they can see in a day; thus more $$ that they put in their stingy pockets.\r \r While in for a physical I had several new very serious issues to discuss, they made some notes but did nothing more. They didn't even ""physically"" look at or ""evaluate"" at the regions in question. They didn't even think to run through a series of range-of-motion exercises - nothing - except for a few head nods, more notes, and a consult for XRays. And even the XRays they ordered didn't cover all my complaints. And to this day I still am in considerable pain. \r \r A complete ""physical"" in under 15 minutes is JUST NOT RIGHT!!! It takes longer than that to give my dog a bath!! Come on people!! A complete lab work-up was also NOT done based upon the initial symptoms. Other physicians I've spoke with are still wondering why they missed that... So instead of a courtesy visit to fix the problem and send me off with another lab form, I am told: ""we're still going to have to charge you for a another visit"" just so they can fix their mistake. I have seen Navy Corpsman do a better job. Just go somewhere else!!\r \r RTP is a great area with lots of very very good health care facilities and physicians. I have conferred with many other physicians about the type of treatment I received and they all say the same thing - ""just find another doctor""!! more
