Editorial review from Citysearch 8/7/2012

Wonderful Hospital. Had a Cystro performed at Mercy Hospital on 9-6-12 and the staff was excellent and hospital was very clean and orderly. It could not have been any better. Can't express my thanks to all that I came in contact with. more

Worst Surgical hospital ever 4/18/2011

ZERO STARS!!! actually - it made me give 1 Worst hospital I have ever been to. The staff was rude and nasty. I was there on 4/18 for surgery that the doctor had deemed life saving! However, despite the fact I had insurance, and said insurance was paying for the surgery, this hospital decided that they needed $8,000 out of pocket before they would let me into the day surgery suite. Needless to say this was a devastating blow. The registration staff was nasy. I said I wanted to stay and see the doctor after he finished his current surgery to clear this matter up as the surgery was absolutely necessary. and they were told that. Instead I left without my surgery - So my review is - Hospital only cares about its bottom line and not its patients. DON""T GO HERE FOR SURGERY!! ANY HOSPITAL THAT CARES ABOUT MONEY MORE THAN ITS PATIENTS IS ONE TO AVOID. more

A great hospital with unmatched personal service 3/5/2010

I recently had orthopedic surgery at Mercy Hospital. I stayed in the hospital for 3 nights and 4 days. My wife also stayed in my room for the entire time. I had also had my pre-op work up at Mercy Hospital some weeks previous to my stay. All together I had interactions with approximately 27 people. My room was clean and housekeeping people were in my room daily. There was a basket of fresh fruit in my room when I arrived, also there was a small refridgerator packed with fruit juice and soda. My wife had a sofa-bed to sleep on. ALL my nurses were not only attentive but made me feel safe and well taken care of. Pros: Everyone was friendly more

Wouldn't send my dying pet fish here! 12/19/2009

This is the NASTIEST hospital I have ever been in. The trash had bloody gloves and bloody bandages on the floor. The room I was placed in had a smear of vomit. WhenI asked the nurse aboutit, she rolled her eyes and told me that was ""cleaned up"". The trash can smelled so bad that I had to move it out into the hallway not to be sickened by it. The staff was beyond rude... better customer service at McDonald's from 16 year olds! Nurses acted like they didn't want to be bothered or have to move from their chairs to get you anything. I had to go out of my room to ask them to get me some water and she acted like I asked for an fresh baked apple pie or something. I ended up just walking out the door since I didn't want them touching me! Went to a REAL hospital that didn't get their certification through the mail! NEVER GO HERE! You are putting your life at risk! Cons: Ummm... everything! more
