Editorial review from Citysearch 2/22/2014

Clermont Mercy Hospital has saved my life literally. Yes, I have been to the er with injuries, chest pain. severe headaches. Yes, I had to wait for as much as 2 hours to be seen and then it took forever(in my time) to be seen by the nurse, doctor, test results and even discharge instructions. BUT when I went in per squad unconscience and barely breathing they were right there and stayed there until I was stable enough to be transferred to the ICU. If you were there the day I was with broken? arm, vomitting, headache, fever or other complaint then I am sorry you had to wait because the medical staff was with me. I am. also, sorry that they think patients in my condition made you wait- you wrote such bad reviews. I am forever thankful for their dedicated care @ the Clermont Mercy ER. KUDO""S\r more

Clermont Mercy - Unbelievable 3/12/2012

Several friends and I met a dear friend in the ER just this past Saturday (3/10/12). He was in so much pain in his entire abdominal area. He couldn't stand up straight and he had been vomiting for 3 days. He was even having ""mini-seizures"" that were cycling every 5 minutes or so. The hospital finally admitted him so they could find out what was going on and set a course of treatment. Well, today (3/12) after having several tests on his heart (Why his heart you ask, couldn't get an answer to that!) They said they ruled out any heart problems so discharged him. He never said he had pain in his chest! To which the doctor said, ""We admitted you because you said you had chest pain."" 7 witnesses and we all attest that he never said ""chest pain"". I just found out they sent him home today. He could barely walk, still in severe pain and throwing up as he went out the door, in the car and when he got home. His wife doesn't know where to turn now! He's not going to make it if someone wont help! NEVER GO TO MERCY CLERMONT!\r Side note - the nurses where great! One said he needed a cat scan of his head for possible seizures and she would see that he got one. The doctor didn't listen to her either. The nurses were apologizing as he and his wife left the hospital. But I guess they couldn't do anything either. ..... more

Clermont Mercy 1/25/2011

clermont mercy is a terrible hospital, i have had many bad experiences there. to list a few: once i had broken my arm, the area was the forearm you could see were the bones were messed up and i was in pretty bad pain, i came to Clermont mercy, i sat in the main waiting room for approximately 4 hours bleeding from scrapes on my arm and suffering from the pain of the broken bone, before i was even called back for a room. i had also come here with my fiance, because she was a bit sick, no problems with the hospital at that point aside from them telling my 2 month pregnant fiance that there was no possible way she was pregnant. MY mother was recently admited to clermont mercy for reasons im not going to list, and dont get me wrong the doctor is nice and there are a few nurses that are nice, but the majority of the nurses are very rude in their own ways and are very unresponsive to calls. i have never had problems like this at any other hospital or doctors office, Clermont mercy is by far the worste hospital i have ever been to. if you neeed to go to the hospital, i assure you Clermont Mercy is not the best pick. more

Very good experience 6/7/2010

I recently moved to the area and had been having ongoing problems with abdominal pain that would come and go. Finally, after running a fever and having increasing pain for a few days, it became clear that this wasn't just a stomach bug or pulled muscle. Since I was a new patient, I couldn't get into any of the local doctor's offices in a short period of time, so on the recommendation of a friend went to the Mercy ER. Since I got there at a slow time (if you don't have a life-or-death emergency, 7-9 am seems to be a pretty good time as far as avoiding the rush goes), check in took only a few minutes and I was seen very quickly. Dr. Lewis, the doctor on call, was excellent - after a preliminary exam he ran through what the ""game plan"" was, so that I knew exactly what steps we were going to take to figure out what was going on. In total, we were there about 2 hours, some of which was just waiting for test results to come back. I left with a diagnosis and a referral to a specialist for follow up care. I know that my experience was likely good in part because the ER was slow at the time (I came in prepared for a 3 hour wait since I knew I'd be low priority based on my symptoms), but a big part of it was the friendliness and kindness of the staff, along with excellent communication from them. Several of the staff looked totally exhausted when I saw them in the hallways, but when they came in to see me, they were smiling and courteous. Pros: Very clean, kind staff, good communication more

Normally a very good hospital, although our last visit wasnt so great 5/27/2008

Clermont Mercy is the closest hospital to where I live, so when I had to take my son there a couple weeks ago because he had been running an extremely high fever, I trusted he would get attention. We have had a couple good experiences in their ER dept. before, but that day it was completely different, we waited an hour before we even got a nurse to see us, and that was only because he was throwing up all over me and I ran out of the room asking them to get me some towels. They threw some dry towels at me and threw a new sheet on the bed, I told them my son (17 mths old) had to be seen immediatly, keep in mind he was running a 104 degree fever at the time, they came in, registered us, and took his vitals, its was about 30 minutes before the doctor came in to see us, took a strep test and told me they would be back in just a few minutes. He returned over an hour later and told me there ws nothing we could do but give him tylenol and the nurses would be right in with discharge papers. After waiting another hour, I walked out and told them I was leaving I knew what to do and It was ridiculous we had waited that long, they asked me to wait and handed me the papers to sign, the trip ended up being 4 hours, and they left me covered in my sons throwup pretty much the whole time, not even offering me a wet towel. I dont think I will take him there anymore Pros: Close to a main highway Cons: takes forever to recieve care more

Great Staff, bad experience 4/6/2008

Friendly & attentive staff, very clean facility.\r \r Hospital staff diagnosed one condition (pneumonia), yet tested and treated for another (heart). Ran up a 7500 + bill, kept me overnight in the hospital, failed to tell me my x-ray indicated pneumonia and sent me home with untreated pneumonia. My family doctor ended up treating me for it based on their own x-rays and reports, first go round of antibiotics didn't cure it, ended up with a second and stronger kind, and steroids to get rid of it because it was left ""untreated"" too long.\r \r I realize the heart should be considered and taken seriously, and might have even been okay with all the unnecessary testing if they would have at least treated the pneumonia they discovered! Pros: Super friendly and attentive staff Cons: My condition was left untreated, sent home worse than I arrived more

EMS DRIVER 2/29/2008

Yea i have been to that hospital alot adn have not seen any thing that would back the story up about that hospital, I am a medic for the clermont CO and aim there at least 3 times a week, not sure what was going on more

to the women who used to drive an ambulance 1/10/2008

WOW! Did you spend more time typing or fabricating your story? Lets make this short and to the point. First after doing some reserch it seems that you didn't do any driving for a local EMS. 2nd Mercy Clermont has won numerous awards and is rated as one of the top hospitals in the area. Being in the hospital at the same time this is one good story, If I had that much time I would get involved in community or do something positive in the area. more

Worst 1/9/2008

Clermont Mercy Hospital is the poorest excuse for a hospital I have ever seen. This evening my husband had an extremly bad headache, dizziness and numbness in his extremities and was taken, by ambulance, to CMH. The EMT had to wait 20 minutes for a nurse to give his report to. My husband was signed in by a registar and 1/2 hour later a nurse came in to take medical history and vitals. His BP was 165/100. After that he was seen by nobody! No nurse, no doctor, no tech, no body. It was not a busy night, there were no other ambulances that came in while we were there. There were other patients in some of the other rooms, but it wasn't packed. He was given nothing for his BP, nothing for his pain, nothing to drink. After 2 1/2 hours we decided to leave and told some person that was setting in the nurses station. We were told to wait a minute and that the nurse would speak with us in a minute, after another 20 minutes we started walking out. We saw the nurse and told her that my husband was leaving and why. She simply said ""Okay, Good luck to you"", and that was it. Now I am no doctor but I know enough to know that my husband went in to the hospital with something that could have been very serious, ie; TIA, Stroke ect. and all he got was a 2 1/2 hour wait and Good luck to you? While we were there I saw no patient care given to anyone really. Nurses pushed their C.O.W.s (Computer On Wheels) around but that was it. This is not the only time this has happened. What makes it worse is that I use to run life squad in Clermont County and for years CMH ER has been going down hill. Hospital Drive would be a great place to build a hospital with doctors and nurses that care and are willing to do their jobs.\r PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE, DO NOT TAKE A LOVED ONE TO CLERMONT MERCY HOSPITAL, TAKE THEM TO A HOSPITAL THAT WILL GIVE PROPER PATIENT CARE AND IN A TIMELY MANNER, THAT HAVE PROFESSIONALS THAT KNOW HOW AND ARE WILLING TO DO THEIR JOBS.\r \r Signed\r L. Felts Pros: Close to home Cons: Patient care more
