AMAZING Studio with a Wide Variety of Styles 6/14/2012

I have been dancing at MPAoD for 10 years and have been competing with them for 5 years. I think that MPAoD is a great dance school with fabulous teachers! I have improved so much from all of my technique classes as well as my competition classes. Also, we have won various awards at regional and national competitions including one of our junior ballet numbers winning first overall from ages 5-19 at a national competition in 2011. If you are looking for a great dance school with various styles in the Bay Area, Menlo Park Academy of Dance is the place to go. more

Great teachers, terribly kept 3/12/2012

This studio has some great teachers, especially ballet teachers, but it is terribly kept. The floors and windows are very dirty. Spilled food all over and finger prints that have been there for many months. The classroom floors are so dirty that the kid's tights are brown after a class. The bathrooms also really need daily cleaning, and I don't believe they get that. Also, the allowance of dogs and cats in the studio is out of control. My child has dust allergies, so unfortunately we had to leave:( Pros: null Cons: null more

I'll be very blunt and honest about this place. I feel that the owner is a stuck up snob. I approached her a few years back about taking private lessons and I could tell, she did'nt want "MY KIND THERE.".Plus the classes are over priced and not that good. Women, do yourselves a favor, seek out a better dance school for you and your children. more

The Art of Dancing Starts with MPAOD 6/14/2010

I personally am dancing at Menlo Park Academy of Dance and think that is a GREAT place to dance. The technical training is exquisite, the teachers are very helpful and friendly, and the community the Academy has created is very supportive which has helped me grow tremendously over the years as a dancer. MPAoD also has a competition team which really shows how amazing the dance studio is. In 2008 they won the national title for best over all group dance.\r The list of praise for the Academy goes on and on. But the main point is if you want the BEST dance training in the area, come to Menlo Park Academy of dance where they provide a variety of classes, and a great environment to learn the art of dancing in. more

i dont like it 10/3/2007

i think mpad is a very bad place to dance. first of all they all look the same and dance the same. what is the point of that? and they have no technique. if you want to be yourself, unique and proffesional dancer then you should concider studio s broadway academy of dance. you coul come during the weekend and take a look at our classes. they are really fun and entertaining. more

OK for Dance experience not for technique 9/20/2007

My two girls took ballet classes at MPAD, the oldest for 5 years (ages 2 - 7) and the youngest for 3 years (ages 2-5). The girls enjoyed their classes and performing in June. However, my oldest decided she really wanted to do really ballet (vs dancing with wands and scarfs and talking into a microphone) so we switched to a studio aligned with a professional ballet group (she wanted to be in the Nutcracker). I believe one of the reasons it was difficult for them to learn proper ballet technique was everyone of their classes had 25 children in each class which is way too many. more

Dance Lessons 9/8/2005

My husband and I took dance lessons a few weeks before our wedding. the dance teachers at Menlo Park Academy of dance were highly recommened so we decided to give them a try. They were absolutely wonderful. It was worth it just be in teh class, even though our class sixe was about 20. But I think it made it more fun with more people. We were able to help each other out. This dance studio is highly recommended. We are cven thinking about going back to learn different dances. And parking is really easy too. more

Dane your heart away 8/3/2005

This is a studio with wonderful teachers. And lately they have been getting some publicity. Even thought they are a tiny dancwe studio they have been in magazines and newspapers. A couple of their dancers made it into some magazines too because of their wonder work during competition. This studio participates in competition and they win all sorts of prizes. When you go inside you see their dozens of trophies. But the problem is is that for the oast couple of year the studio has gotten incredibly crowded! and it just keeps growing! more
