a great idea 12/8/2006

I Have been to this restaurant 2 different times, the first time was for prom. I went with a group of 6 and we all had a great time. They had a prom special that was only $30 per person including tip, toast drink, cheese fondue, meat entree, and the dessert. So worth it!!!!! that was a deal I could not pass up! I was thinking about dressing up again this year and pretending im going to prom for the same deal hehe. we will see... more

A different kind of eating experience. 7/1/2006

I really liked my experience at the Melting Pot in Appleton. I have gone to this restaurant on 3 different occasions and had a good time every time. It is not just a place to eat, the whole process is entertaining! You start the meal out with a cheese fondue...OMG... how good is this? Next comes the main course, your meats and veggies... make sure you cook these long enough! My first visit there (Amy can concur) a few of us had stomach issues! Finally you finish up with the chocolate fondues! You have to love this! It is pricey, but for the amount of food you get, and the entertainment factor its a nice alternative to dining out! more

fun place... 4/19/2006

I went to The Melting Pot with a work group and did the whole thing...from the cheese fondue down to the dessert fondue. The cheese was good and I could have dipped all day. We moved on the main meal....Though I eat meat and mind you I was new to this fondue stuff...I wasn't to crazy about the raw meat showing up at my table...We should have had better directions on how long to cook the meat and one in our party doesn't eat meat and he had to dip his items in the same pot as the meat eaters and I didn't that was to cool. There were five of us and with the "not cooking long enough" plan....5 got sick. But before we all knew that we did the desert....oh yeah, I would go back for that. Cut up brownies, fruit, cheese cake etc....all for your dipping pleasure. This place is very cool looking on the inside, but pricey. So thumbs up to the cheese and the dessert....I will stick with cooking meat at home and then dip it in something :). more

A neat idea, but is a bit pricey 4/17/2006

The Melting Pot is a neat restaurant. How can you not like anything that you eat on a stick and dip into cheese. I had ordered a drink from the bar, the cheese appetizer and the chocolate dessert. The drink was very good, however, happy hour only applies to when you are sitting at the bar. The cheese wasn't bad, but they didn't keep it warm enough. It started to thicken in about five minutes. However, the chocolate dessert was wonderful. It so made up for the poor cheese dish. The staff, however, was only so-so. When I was there they had just opened for the night and there was only one other table full. It took a long time for someone to bring us our bill. more
