Mel's has the best burgers around. Great beef, preparation and prices. The homemade fried mushrooms are to die for. Fries, tots and onion rings are also great.
Lunch at Mels is a big value, with a steam table where you pick one of 3 entree's, 2 sides, cornbread or roll and drink for 5 bucks even, after tax. The menu changes every day with each day having it's one item that is always served that day, chicken fried steak on thursday and chicken fried chicken on wednesday. (Both great)
Dress down for Mel's and expect a wait at almost any time. And expect to leave ""Mel'ed""
Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly, Fast service
Cons: Parking, worthwhile wait, location
