I was treated really well until I signed a contract. After the contract was signed everything changed. Nothing bad happened, but I was treated like they were doing me a huge favor by renting me the space. more

just downright terrible. Scooter is extremley rude and unhelpful. Also she is a liar and a thief. Add us to the list of people who didn't get their deposit back. They took us to small claims court after we refused to pay a bogus invoice of damages made up by someone claiming to be a contractor associated with them.\r \r Be warned.....these clowns put on a great costume, but are pathetic in the end. We are currently in court with them. Scooter will probably get on here and post something to dispute this like she does all other websites......please email me, i will share everything i have with you. Nhenson1@hotmail.com. The invoice is the biggest joke of all, i will gladly send a copy so you can see for yourself this operation is run by fools and con artists. Zero stars. more

My husband and I chose to have our wedding reception at the Mellwood because we loved the event space that they offered. We paid all the fees on time and held our event in event room 3. When you pay the fees for the room you have to pay a $350 damage deposit which in our contracted stated that we would receive back in 30 days....our reception was held in October and it is now the end of January and no deposit has been sent . more

My wife and I were married in early to mid April 2010, and chose Mellwood Arts Center, Event Room #3. We paid all fees and deposits required to rent the facility. Our contract said we'd be refunded our deposit in "30 days!" After the 1st week of May, we contacted Scooter Davidson, the Director and manager for Mellwood. Her tone was markedly different from what it had been prior to our event. Before she had been kind, helpful and considerate and allow us additional time to pay deposits and all other associated fees and costs. Worked with us to insure we had everything in place. But this was a different Scooter Davidson. She completely lied and misrepresented the terms of the contract, construing them to mean 30 "business" days, which was completely false! She told my wife they send deposits out between the 20th and 30th of the month. So now it's June 9th, still no deposit refund! Pros: Beautiful New Event Room Cons: Scooter Davidson Will Not Return Deposit Money more
