I thought there was no way this place would be as good as the one back home. We were passing through from Destin and recognized the Mellow Mushroom name, so we stopped in. I really didn't expect it to have that ""back home, relaxed, everybody's welcome"" feel to it. I was wrong. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a cheerful hostess. We ordered the House (like a ""Supreme"" at other places) and we were blown away. Amazing pizza. I have kids so we decided to skip the alcohol (unfortunately) but the server told us about the Root Beer on tap. What?! Of course, we all had to have a glass. Overall it was an outstanding visit. The whole restaurant was very clean, the music was upbeat, and the manager stopped by twice to make sure everything was alright. This will definitely be the place we stop at EVERY TIME we pass through Macon. Pros: Clean, nice staff, awesome bar Cons: They're not open 24/7! more

Perfect place to hangout and chat with friends after a long day. I enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly demeanor of the waitstaff. The beer selection is the best on that I have seen in the middle GA area. The choices are always changing so I have new beer to look forward to every couple of weeks. If you haven't been here you need to go and experience Mellow. Pros: Cheap Crown Royal and Large Beer Selection Cons: Not enough time in the day to drink all the beer. more

So back home in Atlanta I have been to Mellow Mushroom many, many times but have not seen one like the Macon store. It's a little off the beaten path, but the service was awesome and the beer nice and cold. I had the mighty meaty pizza with oil and garlic (server recommended instead of red sauce) and jalapenos. Holy Moly that was a tasty pizza. My wife got the Brutus salad, and loved every bite. May have been the beer, but we had a lot of fun and will be back soon!
