Interesting comments! But I could not help but notice that the remark I made shortly after the tv show concerning this stores upgrading! In short, the comment is MISSING! Now I realize that my remarks were VERY similar to some of those that are now posted, they included rude service, cold food, ants in the salt shaker, excessive prices for what was being served, needed cleaning, etc! My wife and I still will NOT eat here! I can't help wonder why the owner shot himself in the foot after the tv program? We did enjoy this place b4, but NO longer! more

Don't waste your time or your money!!! 8/16/2011

Don't waste your time going here. The service is deplorable. I didn't even wait for the dinner. There were 2 tables, and the first table was finished and getting go boxes before the second table was even served, 21/2 hours later. I left to go get something to eat. I went at 6:00 p.m. and didn't want to eat and go right to bed . The worst part of it was there was no apology and no offer to make it up. There were 18 ladies corralled into a 10 x 10 room in the back that looked like it had formerly been a broom closet. \r \r Go to McDonald's. more

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!! 3/19/2011

My husband & I patronized Meglio's Italian Grill & Bar very recently because we heard of the makeover they received and were quite eager to try out the new fare. What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! When the hostess escorted us to our booth, the booth was dirty & the table was not clean either. I asked the hostess about this and she said our waiter would be with us shortly. I ended up cleaning the area myself with the anti-bacterial gel in my purse so we could sit down. Quite frankly, I was ready to leave but my husband convinced me to stay. He ordered the pizza and was half pleased but he will eat anything & is not one to complain too much (which explains our 27 year marriage :) I ordered the beef medallion over polenta (over $20) and it was the most disgusting & smelly thing ever! - I even asked the waiter what it was & he had to check with the kitchen!! When he returned to the table he said it was the chef""s play on mash potatoes & gravy. All I could say was ""Oh my"". The look of fear & panic on the young waiters face struck a parental cord with us & prevented me from sending it back. The beef was tough & undercooked, although I could only take one bite but made my husband try it too & he agreed with me. The relish on top was rancid, the polenta was chunky - like undone cream-of-wheat, and the ""gravy""....that was the worst...it was conjealing on the plate. The salad I had with dinner was nothing but a pile of wilted & witing lettuce & the house dressing (mustard vinaigrette) is totally overrated. I was so disgusted & I couldn't stand the smell anymore I urged my husband to leave, which we did. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER patronize Meglio's again. What a waste of time & a waste of money!!!\r \r PS: My husband wanted me to mention that it would have been better to use liquid nails to attach the pizza pans to the wall instead of putting a big nail through the center of them. The nail is very obvious & the look is tacky.\r \r Thank you for reading.\r \r The Wuestlings\r more

GREAT local resturant 2/20/2011

I must disagree with all of the negative comments that have been made about Meglios especially UNTRUE comments about the owner John. I think it says a lot when a majority of the workers have been there since the doors have opened. My entire family have been big fans of the resturant AND John Meglio since the doors opened. I cannot even count the number of times that we ate at Meglios on my hands or toes. Never once have we had any ounce of issues with the food or service EVEN before the makeover. We have always been please with everything that we ordered and ate. Take the negative comments with a grain of salt, there are just some people that can NEVER be pleased. more

just renovated and new menu 2/16/2011

This restaurant was just featured on the Food Network show, Restaurant Impossible. They are still adjusting to the new demands of trying to be a real restaurant, so please be patient. Hope they can do it! more

Overpriced - Not Exceptional Food 2/13/2011

Service is very good - food is greatly overpriced and not exceptional. All four of us agreed. I ordered eggplant - six small pieces for $8.00 - no sides come with the meals. Waitress said the available sides were in her head, not on the menu. Seems like you would print what is offered and display the prices. more

Terrible Service, Awful Food, Psycho Owner!!! Stay Away! 11/7/2010

This was a horrible experience!\r \r Where to start?\r \r -Terrible service\r -Awful food\r -Psycho owner\r \r When we brought our concerns to the owner - he was rude. We decided to leave. \r \r He chased us out into the parking lot screaming expletives to me (in front of my small kids).\r \r We called the police on him.\r \r I should have read the reviews before going.\r \r All the negatives that have been shared online are completely true.\r \r STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND THEIR PSYCHO OWNER. WHAT A SCARY EXPERIENCE!!! more

WORST RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD!!! 11/7/2010

This was the absolute WORST restaurant that I have ever had the misfortune of going to. The food was awful, the service was very slow, and the owner was a complete JERK. The food was burned and it took over an hour for it to arrive to us. This was especially funny because there were 3 customers at 1 p.m. on a Sunday. If this place survives another week, that would be a huge shocker. The description on this and other sites are completely false. TV's Chef Ramsay couldn't even save this complete dump!!! I am not sure if this place owns an oven --- all the food was straight from a can and out of the microwave. Please stay away from this restaurant! more

ATTN POTENTIAL MEGLIO CUSTOMERS 9/2/2008

As a former employee I would not recommend my worst enemies to this restaurant. There are so many health code violations the place should be shut down. I have witnessed on numerous occasions some of the cooks using the bathroom and leaving without washing there hands including the owner. We have sent out numerous meals with meat on the verge of spoiling and were told to ""just rinse it off"" to get rid of the smell. There have been several time that mold is scraped off certain items and then served. One of there cooks has had his hands down his pants several times and then proceeds to cook. Warnings from the healthdepartment are over looked and then taken care of quickly when they come back for an inspection. Raw meat is handled without using glove then these contaminated hands are used to assemble plates. When we used a meat tenderizer there is no use of a barrier to keep bl00d and fragments of raw chicken or beef off of plates or plates with food, instead these now contaminated plates are wiped off with a dry towel. This is what happens behind the closed doors of your neighborhood Italian restaurant MEGLIOS. Pros: if you want to take the chance of getting sick Cons: this could fill a book more

Reponse to lies. 8/6/2008

I've have never experienced anything like what happened on July 30th in my restaurant. I was in my office when one my servers came to me very concerned. She told me a customer says he found hair in his sauteed mushroom and onions. I promptly proceeded to the dining room very concerned. The customer said he was disgusted with what he found and would like me to take his 95% eaten meal off of his bill. I looked carefully at the item on his plate and told him I didn't think it was hair. It looked more like plant fiber. But I didn't argue with the man and agreed to take the meal off of his bill. I took his plate back to the kitchen and proceeded to adjust his bill. At this time my server came back to the kitchen and told me the couple were leaving without paying. I proceeded to the parking lot and ask the man why he was leaving without paying. He told me to go back in restaurant and that there was money on the table in the book. I explained to him, very upset I might add, that you don't come into my restaurant, make a scene and split on the bill. I then ask him why he left the way he did. He said he felt the $15 was enough to cover the meal. I told him he didn't give us the opportunity to adjust the bill yet how would he know if that was enough to cover it. He didn't care. He ate 95% of his chicken speidini and she ate all of her baked mostacioli. He left the restaurant with paying my server enough money, and the only thing threatening about my behavior was protecting my restaurant from people who leave without paying. I still have the plant fiber in an envelope on my desk. It turns out to be the hair from the end of an onion that somehow found it's way into the sauteed mushroom and onions. The way this individual handled himself was very suspiscious and I was totally expecting something negative to come out of this. more

Frightened and Disgusted 8/1/2008

Found a swash of hair in my mushrooms and onion side. Not just one or two strands, this thing looked like the hair ball that accumulates in the shower drain. After informing the wait staff it took the manager/owner 5+ minutes to come to the table. Without saying anything to me he removed the dish and walked off. The entire time our waitress was nowhere to be found.\r \r Thoroughly disgusted and insulted I left 15 dollars on the table and left. Neither one of us had more than a few bites out of either of our dishes. We hadn't finished our beverages either, but I felt I should leave the waitress something. \r \r The manager/owner chased my wife and I out into the parking lot cursing and screaming in a threatening manner. My wife was so frightened due to his aggressive and physical nature that she wanted to call the police. He really seemed dangerous.\r \r I'm not really a complainer but this was the most frightening and disgusting restaurant experience I've ever had. more

The best in town. 4/20/2008

I'm a frequent guest at Meglio's. The service is phenomenal. The owner is incredible. They really make you feel at home. All of the employee's make sure you have the best experience, and take great strides to make sure you come back. (Which I'm sure most people do.) Their food is amazing. It's well worth the money. Every thing on the menu is good, I've tried it all. And the pizza is the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is great, and the place is clean. Great for all occasions, dates, parties, or sitting at the bar and catching a game on their huge tv. Great for kids too, even the picky ones!! Go see for yourself! more

3rd trip 1/28/2008

So I grew up near the original Luigi's and once I heard this restaurant was using the same pizza oven, i went right on over. My first trip was excellent, just what I was expecting, the 2nd trip was right at 10:00 and they were closing.\r I didn't notice anything too pricey about the bill, you want good restaurants to make a little $$$ so they stay in business dont you?\r there's always the $5 $5 $5 YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Meglio's - Luigi's is back! Awesome food, great service! 1/28/2008

This is our second trip to Meglio's Italian Grill and Bar. I loved Luigi's pizza as a child, I am so happy it is back. The service was great, and the food was incredible. Well worth the price. The pizza is priced higher than - but is surely not to be confused with - chain store's ""fake"" pizza's. The crust is one of the best parts! Awesome. Even our picky kids loved it. Pros: Taste - A blast from the past, service - server polite, timely, nice WELL WORTH THE MONEY Cons: if you are used to paying for big crust chain restaurant pizza, you will not like the pizza nor price more

Good pizza but way overpriced 10/16/2007

Three of us went there for lunch and it took 15-20 minutes for the pizza to arrive at our table. We drank two sodas each waiting for the pizza to arrive. The pizza was good but was slightly overcooked. My biggest concern when settling the bill was the menu and its layout. All the ingredients were listed at the top with the prices for large, medium and small that followed. Then it noted an additional charge for additional toppings, however, it never stated the original price of a large, medium and small was for ""cheese"" only. After questioning the bill the waitress explained the pricing structure which still didn't account for another pricing error; the menu displayed an old price. The cost of the pizzas increased a couple of bucks, however, they didn't update the menu. The pizza is good but way overpriced. We'll never go back again! more
