Mike and his staff have been doing my tax prep for over 25 years. I have sent him no less than a dozen clients who also rave about his service. Several had been using book keepers and the usual big tax prep firms like H&RB. They all said it was worth the higher fee for a real CPA as they were getting bigger returns and structuring their personal tax and businesses to minimize tax payments. The ease of tax time and the money I have saved after his fee is why I continue to use Mike and his staff. I return the tax and info update form they send early in the year. Later in the year we have phone meeting where I get the bottom line and authorize their work. It comes back to me ready to sign and send to the IRS. They are always available answer questions when I need it. Ahhhhh!!! more

As the new year approaches, we are preparing our taxes early this time. Medkiff sent me the packet to fill out which has all the questions and info about which documents need to be filed. The level of stress associated with taxes is so much less now that his office and staff are always handy and available for questions. We started using Mike a few year ago and I really appreciate his professionalism and easy going personality. It's time for us to prepare again this year and we got our tax organizer in the mail from his office. We just make a note of any changes from the previous year and send it in along with tax forms like W2s etc. His office will call in a few weeks and set up an appointment, either by phone or in person. It's so easy and he has saved us thousands! Mike costs a bit more than a standard preparer but you pay for what you get, and he is very knowledgeable about a variety of tax related issues. more

Good: It's been a few tough years for my service business but I have still managed to make it grow. My old tax guy has not grown with me. When I started to ask him questions about furture growth, tax planning and retirement he just could not help. He basically took what I gave him and gave me back a tax return without much feedback. Michael Medkiff was the exact opposit. He gave me detailed advise about tax detuctions I had been missing, business and retirement planning and saved me a lot of money.. Bad: It took two calls to get ahold of him and he was running late for my appointment. I guess when your really good your popular/busy.. Improvements: My good friend who referred me confirmed my experience; yes he gives great advise and saves you a lot of money, (even after his much higher fee than my old guy), but it does take a while to get a call back and he usually running behind on his appointments.. Other: On balance an exceptional value for the expensive experience, just don't have a tight schedule the day of your appointment.. more
