The best acne program ever 4/28/2007

I LOVE Medical Aesthetics. Dr. Gerstman is an expert dermatologist who will work hard to achieve the results you want. She is compassionate and knowledgable and always takes time to work with her patients' needs. Even when I'm emailing her frantically on the weekends with questions, she takes time out to write thoughtful, clear, concise, and always useful answers and advice. Elsa is also really knowledgable and good at what she does. I had seen about 4-5 other dermatologists for acne before I came to Medical Aesthetics, and Dr. Gerstman was the first one to work aggressively enough to achieve the results I wanted. Her Acne program is focused on results and treats all causes of acne, not just one. I recommend visiting them to everyone! Pros: Amazing knowledgable staff, great results more

Truly a Miracle Worker 4/25/2007

I have been seeing Dr. Gerstman for acne for three years now. I went to her in desperate need to clear up my badly blemished face, back, and chest. As an African-American women, I felt like my blemishes and scarring would never go away no matter what I tried until Dr. Gerstman started me one of her great microdermabrasion/peel regimens. Within a year of treatments, medication, and topical products my face is 95% better. I can truly saw before meeting Dr. G and her warm, compassionate spirit, I was so insecure about my skin and now I am so much more confident in my skin than ever. I would recommend her spa for its sense of relaxation and tranquility, Dr. Gerstman's compassion, her expertise, and her love for her work. She truly is my miracle worker! Her spa is located in Soho, she's fabulously talented, extremely professional, is warm and genuine, will help you look your hottest and will always make you feel special and welcome. Her equipment is state of the art, the spa is lovely and you get to wear a gorgeous kimono for a robe! I have been a client of Dr. Gerstman's for around 3 years and I think I look better at age 45 now than I did when I was 35! Their microdermabrasion treatments have kept my skin clear and smooth and recently I have undergone Photofacial treatments that are erasing age/sun spots and improving my overall skin tone and texture. It's a freaking miracle. The general atmosphere in the spa is one of warmth and Leslie has a genuine quality of caring in addition to her medical and skin care expertise. If you've been nervous about getting that first Botox shot or just noticing that sag or bag and don't know what to do, give them a call! Pros: great location more

Dr. Gerstman is a delight. She is very kind and professional, and instantly puts me at ease. What I really appreciate is her candor in discussing other treatments that I might benefit from. There were several products/services that I thought I might need, and Dr. G suggested that I wait. Her honesty was very refreshing. I have been to dermatologists to treat my rosacea and none of the creams ever worked. I found Dr. Gerstman through online research and after her treatments (a package with one cost and no hidden fees) my skin has never looked better. more

sunspots are finally gone!! 4/2/2007

I have had IPL treatments before at a regular spa but it didn't really do much. I had the worst sun damage still so I figured i would try a medical spa. Wow!!!! I admit i looked a little scary right after the treatment. All of the spots got really dark. But then they turned into little scabs and fell off! It was very cool. and my skin looks so much better now Pros: effective treatment good prices more

Spa that stays true to itself 2/23/2007

I have been a client of Medical Aesthetics since the begining. So, I obviously love the place. But one the most special things that I realized lately is how ""real"" the place is. Despite becoming one of the hottest spas in the city and having a celebrity following they are still the most humble people I know. Still high quality service, individual attention (no matter who you are!), and genuine honesty. Pros: honest ,genuine ,most effective services in the city!!! more

Great Esthetician = Great Skin!!! 2/7/2007

Since I've moved to New York I've tried a small handful of spas and clinics that provide treatments and care for the skin. Medical Aesthetics is the only one that I would recommend to friends or anyone. Having a great Esthetician is equally as important to me as having really good Dentist. Elsa is the one. While being extremely positive and reassuring during my treatment, Elsa took great care in explaining the procedures and products she used on me. Beyond the nonpretentious comforting service, the spa had extremely great energy. I am so happy to have found a one stop shop for all my skincare needs. The prices are average and thus reasonable, as you cannot get a powerpeel anywhere in the city for less than $100 and if you can, beware. more

i can say as a guy it can be wierd to go for skin treatments...thats why i have to say i have really enjoyed my laser experiences at medical aesthetics. the staff is really cool and put me at ease. i felt like i did something good for myself right after the first time. highly recommend! Medical Aesthetics is a breath of fresh air. It is a very private boutique spa down in SOHO. When I left I felt so relaxed and happy. The place just has such great energy. Annoying that they hide their prices. 2/4/2007

It is very time-consuming just to find out the prices for simple services. No prices on their website. They will require you to come in and pay for a consultation just to ask the price. This is a trick to get customers in. Cons: Annoying and time-wasting just to find out the prices they keep secret unless you pay for the privelege of them telling you the price more

CACI The original non-surgical facelift 12/7/2006

I am so excited to finally find a spa in NY that has the CACI microcurrent system. I'm originally from the UK and the CACI non-surgical facelift is the hottest treatment there. All the celebrities and models get this facial. I'm also really impressed with the aesthetician Elsa. Her treatments were as good if not better than what I'm used to getting back home. They include ultrasound also. The prices aren't cheap but much cheaper than flying to the UK every month!!! Pros: best microcurrent system on the market Cons: need to book appointment at least 2 weeks in advance more

I followed my favorite aesthetician (Elsa Reyes) from Yasmin's, an UES spa, to Medica Aesthetics and I am so thrilled with the SoHo location. Since Elsa joined Med. Aesthetics, I've gotten some of the best laser hair removal treatments ever and my skin has never looked better- and that's saying a lot, since we're in the winter season! Anyone looking to pamper themselves in a chic downtown location while getting glowing results should definitely book an appointment here. Best Skin Therapy in New York 11/29/2006

During the two prior weeks before my wedding my skin was a disaster due to all the pre-wedding STRESS! I had to find a quick repair before my big day and fortunately for me I was able to get an appointment at Medical Aesthetics with Ms. Elsa Reyes. Thank God! She treated me with the most advanced facials and lasers. Service was first-class and the results were rapid and amazing. My skin was radiant on my special day. Dr. Gertsman administered some Botox that made me look beautiful not stressed or ""fake"". This was a wonderful experience and I strongly recommend anyone who needs days of beauty and relaxation. more

best doctor in ny 6/11/2006

I'm only 30 years old but I was starting to look so tired because of these dark circles under my eyes. I wasted more money on eye creams than one can imagine. So, my friend suggested I see Dr. Gerstman. She explained to me that I was starting to get ""hollow"" under my eyes. She used a product like Restylane to fill in the defect. After a few days of bruising I now look awesome!! Pros: smart doctor really helpful staff more
