The worst experience as doctors go. Dr jacobs butchered my face trying to determine my condition and then referred me to a plastic surgeon for the repair work.\r \r His license should be suspended. I think the business is a scam actually to extort patients money.\r \r I couldn't ever get anyone on the phones so I had to go in the office in person, then treated with intolerance. \r \r I have now finally found a wonderful doctor with skills and professionalism. I actually cried once when I thought of the nightmare I endured unnecessarily. more

First off it took a little too long to get in after my appointment time. She rushed in and her mouth didn't stop pitching her guinea-pig drugs at me until I left, which BTW was the shortest doctors consult I EVER had. I suffer from Hidradenitis Suppurativa, which apparently she treats a lot of patients with it yearly- so she probably doe know her stuff, but she had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever seen, and with HS, Lets just say I've been around the Dermatology neighborhood, shopping for a decent doc. I felt like she could give a crap how I felt or anything, she just kept trying to sell her clinical trials at me. Which yes, everything is experimental with HS, but surely someone could learn to be compassionate and have empathy for someone... especially a doctor. I would not recommend her to anyone. Luckily- I did find a doc in San Diego that treated me with respect and let me get a word in when I needed to be heard for once. more

i have been to numerous dermatologists and esthicians since my skin suddenly broke out at age 27. i rarely write reviews, but i did join citysearch for the purpose of reviewing Michelle. \r \r foremost, a sudden and severe onset of acne is both extremely frustrating, and truely an esteem killer. i have spent the past year and half traipsing all over san diego for a good doctor to, at the very least, explain to me what is going on. my skin was so bad i couldnt leave the house some days. having never had bad skin, i lacked the know how to get help. \r \r i have tried everything, spent thousands...THOUSANDS of dollars and nothing helped. what was worse is i was not able to have anyone explain to me what was happening. sometimes all i wanted was a piece of mind, to understand what was going on with me. i tried michelle, and i was immediately impressed. in reading some of the reviews, maybe she isnt for some people, but she knows her stuff. she explained everything to me, everything. was honest about pricing, and up front with what to expect. i have done my homework with derms for sure. i hesitate to be dramatic, but she is outstanding. i wanted information and she gave. yes she is seemingly strong willed, but she should be, michelle is well versed in acne and solutions for it. it was not an overflow of 'scripts and products and a kick out the door, the experience was a reasonable method to get my skin back to normal. ITS WORKING. \r \r about her products. they are well worth the price, as i believe its always worth the investment when it comes to your face. she also gives you alternatives and OTC reccos. \r \r all in all, even if you have to sit in the waiting room for some time, its worth it. afterall, if she was not this good, why would there be a wait in the first place? I had previously gotten 4 treatments at Dermacare in Mission Valley. They seemed a little shady so I did some additional research and found that a real MD should be doing the laser treatments and not just a nurse or assistant - which is what Dermacare had. \r \r I found Michelle Pelle online and from my first phone call, they were very informative and told me straight up pros and cons of laser and what to expect. \r \r I just had my first treatment there and I am so surprised at how professional a laser treatment SHOULD be! Michelle was extrememly informative and she talked me through each step. She even took down records of the lasers we used, the power levels of the lasers and other one on one information she wanted to keep up to date with me on. \r \r Unlike the other place I went to, Michelle took her time and even went over my areas twice to make sure she got everything. wow! what service. \r \r I highly recomment this clinic. From the first appt. she lacked bedside manner. Not friendly, and didn't make me feel comfortable with my problem. When I went for a follow up to show her how badly her procedure went she kept me waiting 35+ minutes past my appt., she was rude, sarcastic, wouldn't acknowledge how badly it turned out. began with being a thorough physician, albeit rushed and a no good at listening, who then yelled at me and stormed out of the room after stating ""I might hurt you"" Cons: Yelled, screamed, stated she might hurt me! more

Refused to listen to anything I said. Cut me off mid sentence to yell at me and tell me that she ""cant help me if I keep undermining her"" \r \r Im sure her qualifications are just fine, but I have never met a doctor who has made me feel so uncomfortable in my life. I would never go back to her or reccommend her to anyone else. more

Dr. Pelle is a god!! I have had cystic acne my whole life and no other dermatologist has been able to help me find any relief!! i have even tried accutane before, no help. \r \r The first visit to Dr. Pelle, she looked at my skin, and said we aren't going to try any of those oral medications that you have in the past, they obviously don't work (unlike most doctors who want you to try everything before they start more aggressive treatment :) ). She started me on an androgen blocker, because she said it was apparent to her that my body was ""allergic"" to male hormones and the acne was a result of that.\r \r That was almost 2 years ago, and my skin has never looked better. Within the first month my skin was clear, and cyst free!!\r \r The other great thing is that she doesn't make you come in every 3 months to check on you, i have only been twice in 2 years, and she keeps refilling my perscription.\r \r If your skin is in need of help, you have to to see her!! more

This is what I wrote in Feb 2009, I went to go see her again, the office appointment and customer service for accounting did not work well with my needs, I had to cancel my appointment because they couldn't give me a full price or work with me on a payment. It was frustrating not to be able to see Dr. Phelle due to there poor customer service or how to set up a payment plan with a Credit Care Card that offers payments. Maybe someone should get in the office and do some training in this area. This prevents me from going to the doctor of my choice. \r I have been seeing Dr. Phelle for a little while now, she is very passionate about the work she does, and answering questions. She is busy, but that must be because she is so good at what she does.\r I have looked for a doctor for some time that I could trust, and share my concerns, she was the only one that realized I had precancer skin condition, she gave me hope. more

Dr. Pelle always seems too busy for her patieints. Her bedside manner also needs major improvement. She actually snapped at me when I may have asked one too many questions. If you want a dermatologist that will listen to your needs, you probably will do better elsewhere. Pros: Staff was good and friendly Cons: doctor has no patience more

Having had psoriasis my entire life I have seen many dermatologists and I can assure you that Dr. Pelle is rare. Not only is she knowlegable about the most up-to-date treatments but she is also passionate about what she does. \r more
