HORRIBLE 4/29/2011

The food was not good at all. Dry steak. The WORST part is that when I received my credit card statement, they conveniently overcharged me. I called, e-mailed, called, called again. Nothing. They were unresponsive until I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau (which, I saw on the website already had complaints about billing issues similar to mine!). Finally, the e-mail back was, ""Your charge will be reversed"". That was it! No, apology, nothing! Truly amazed at this RUDENESS! Do not go here! more

Fan of Olive Garden? 4/29/2006

This is mediocre Italian food. The mandatory Valet seemed unnecessary. The outside of the restaurant really doesn't cause one to think that it is anything special. Once inside, it is warm and inviting. The wood burning stove is a nice touch. Appetizer of fried Calamari was tender but pretty average, nothing exciting (we also found coated lemon slices and pieces of celery?). I had the roasted chicken and porcini mushroom risotto. There was no creaminess to this risotto dish. The flavor again, was just okay. My husband had the fettucini puttanesca. He felt that the sauce was over cooked, the seafood in the dish wasn't necessarily fresh and the dish seemed rather dry. The server was friendly, but I felt that we had to wait a very long time between appetizer and entree. Save a few bucks and go to the Olive Garden. At least you get unlimited breadsticks there. Pros: nice lighting Cons: mediocre more

Nice surprise for a Saturday night dinner 4/14/2006

Arrived without a reservation on a Saturday evening and my party of 3 was immediately seated. Despite a private event obviously being hosted at the same time, we promptly received our menus and service was impeccable all evening. The 2 other members in my party opted to share a salad and this was brought out on 2 plates, without being requested (nice touch!). The seafood risotto (special for the evening) was fresh and delicious, especially paired with a crisp white wine. Will definitely be back! Pros: Free valet parking, Service, Seafood options more

Very Disappointing 6/19/2005

I was looking forward to a fantastic dinner after reading the reviews on citysearch. I should have been wary since the last current review was written in 2002. The food was very average, nothing to praise. My roasted duck was bland, and my boyfriend's seafood pasta was ordinary. We won't go back again. Pros: ambience more

Good place for private parties... 12/11/2002

We selected Kuleto's for their family style service when it came to choosing a restaurant for our rehearsal dinner. Let's just say that Kuleto's was a great choice. The service was wonderful and their attention to detail was superb. Also the food was consistent and well-prepared. Would strongly recommend booking their facilities for your private party needs. more

For a Business Lunch or Romantic Dinner 10/29/2002

While one could get caught up watching the action at the gigantic wood-fired oven or in the spotless open kitchen, the beautifully appointed dining room at Kuletos Trattoria in Burlingame is an oasis of tranquility in the mid-Peninsula. Equally as good for a business lunch or a romantic dinner, Kuletos has brisk, but efficient service, a menu with copious choices, and a substantial wine list. While the food is generally well executed, many dishes lack the attention to detail one would find at a smaller establishment. Thus, the results from the kitchen can be a mixed bag: an overdressed Caesar Salad, a piquant Puree of Vegetable Soup, a gargantuan, but slightly soggy Hanger Steak Sandwich, and an excellent wood-fired Onion Pizzetta. While Kuletos is priced for businesspeople on expense accounts, with a little more attention to detail, it could be the best Italian restaurant in the mid-Peninsula. Pros: Freeway access, Romantic Cons: Valet parkign only more

Fun Filled Evening 7/25/2002

I recently experienced a great fun filled evening at Kuleto's Trattoria. Our Birthday party was in one of their beautiful private dining rooms and we had a great time. The food was tasty and the staff professional! Hats off to all the cooks and staff at Kuleto's Trattoria. Pros: Free Valet Parking, Lively Atmosphere, Friendly Cons: Crowded Bar more

Great service, delicious food! 5/21/2002

Our waiter was more than attentive, suggested a wine that enhanced our fresh salmon entrees and the food was outstanding. You must try the tirumisu if you have dessert. more
