PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM Mecklenburg Eye Associates,THEY WILL MISLEAD YOU AND RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!\r I went there for a second opinion(even though I was directed back to the first specialist at CHARLOTTE EYE EAR NOSE & THROAT because Dr.Blotnick does not perform the procedure that I needed to get done).\r Anyway,when I made my appointment,I clearly asked if they're a participant in my insurance network,I was told YES.\r Upon arrival,I double checked,gave them my insurance card and we verified everything.\r My co-payment was $10.00 for specialists office visit(my insurance will pay the balance)no deductible.\r Months later they sent me a bill for almost $200.00 \r I called my insurance company and asked them why they haven't pay that bill......the reason""MECK. EYE ASSOC"" is not in the network.\r I immediately called the billing office at 2015 Randolph Rd.(704)334-2020. and the female(IGNORANT & RUDE) I spoke to insisted that they're in the network(MORE LIES)\r I told her it's obvious that they where trained to tell lies and moreover if they were in network,they would have gotten paid,just like the other specialist that I saw recently.\r Then she said""I can set up a payment plan for you""\r AT THAT POINT I'VE HEARD ENOUGH AND I TOLD HER TO STICK THE BILL UP.........BLEEP!!!.....BLEEP!!!.....BLEEP!!!.\r I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ""CHARLOTTE EYE EAR NOSE & THROAT ASSOCIATES"" more

I am very pleased with the results of the ocular implants. I have not been able to see this well since I was 30 (70).\r \r I have been Dr. Blotnick's patient for over 20 years. The thought of eye surgery was initially a little scary, but the staff of MEA was very supportive and made the entire process very positive. \r \r Good vision is a great gift and I thank Dr. Blotnick and his staff, especially Laurie.\r more

Dr. Charles Blotnick has been my eye doctor since moving to Charlotte 5 years ago. He performed laser surgery on both eyes for glaucoma a few years ago and recently removed cataracts from both eyes. I cannot speak highly enough of his kindness, professionalism and his skill as a doctor and surgeon. I have recommended him to some friends and would readily recommend him again.\r Vivian F. more

I would like to share my eye care experiences with Dr. Charles Blotnick and his friendly staff. He provided me with regular care over the course of my career as an airline pilot where, needless to say, good vision was critical. He also removed a growth near my eye without any discomfort to me and without leaving a scar. But, the reason I am commenting at this time is that Dr. Blotnick recently removed cataracts that had formed in each of my eyes. Both surgeries were completely successful and I was very satisfied with the results. I am now able to once again see clearly and better than I have in years.\r \r Both my wife, who is a patient too, and I feel that Dr. Blotnick is a good and kind person, who has surrounded himself with an able and caring staff. Dr. Blotnick performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. His expertise and wisdom has restored my vision. I can read street signs again! I cannot express how satisfied I am with the whole experience and most importantly, the results. I felt very confident and comfortable trusting him with my eyes . He was kind, compassionate, considerate and always answered my questions without making me feel rushed. He also removed a small cyst from the corner of my eye in about 5 minutes. I have no scar and had no pain after the surgery. I had a very positive experience here and would recommend Dr. Blotnick and his staff to anyone. more

Dr. Blotnick performed my LASIK procedure two days ago and I still haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face! I've worn glasses and/or contact lenses since I was nine years old, and finally at age 26 I'm seeing better than I ever have. I think those of us who have always relied on our glasses or contacts have a hard time imagining that a laser might be able to magically fix our vision. But during my consult with Dr. Blotnick he really guided me through the whole process and made me feel comfortable moving forward. It is such an easy, quick and painless experience. I very enthusiastically recommend LASIK with Dr. Blotnick at Mecklenburg Eye Associates! more

I visited the University area location of Mecklenburg Eye Associates and had a positive experience from beginning to end. I was greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist; Dr. Blotnik and Laurie were wonderful. They answered all of my questions and my appointment was quick and easy. Even after completing new patient paperwork and trying on frames for a bit, I was completely finished in under 90 minutes. I definitely recommend their services! more

Hope you don't have to deal with the billing department 7/14/2011

I would give this place negative stars if I could. \r \r The doctors and office staff were fine. My appointment was at the Rock Hill location. However, my headache came about 8 months AFTER my appointment when I had to deal with the billing department. \r \r Apparently my insurance company took back some of the payment that they provided for this appointment. I was notified by the billing department via a mailed statement. Within 2 weeks they started calling me. I guess I didn more

Great Surgeon and Friendly, Helpful Staff 7/13/2011

Recently, I was referred by my opthamologist to Dr. Blotnick for possible cataract surgery. I am very happy to say that I agreed to have Dr. Blotnick perform cataract surgery on both of my eyes. His vast knowledge in his field, professionalism, and upbeat attitude is what I received each time I met with him before and after each surgery. In addition, each of his staff members are friendly and helpful. Most recently, two of his employees, namely Rose and Tina, were kind and helpful in providing explanations to questions. I have, and will continue, to recommend this practice to my family, friends, and colleagues. more

Excellent care 5/17/2011

I have been seeing Dr. Blotnick for almost a year, I was referred to Mecklenburg Eye Associate by Columbia Eye Clinic. Dr Blotnick and his staff have been professional, courteous and friendly to be both me and my daughter. He is well qualified, he explains what your condition is and the options you have to fix the problem. He is a talented eye surgeon. I have now had two cataract surgeries and both were exceptional with no complications. I would recommended Dr. Blotnick to anyone who is looking for a new eye doctor. more

Great Care 3/30/2011

I had an infection in my eye and was being treated by another practice. My eye was not improving as quickly as I expected it to, and I was getting ready to go on a trip. Mecklenburg Eye Associates was able to get me in that day. Dr. Blotnick looked at my current prescriptions and explained why they were not working and switched my drops. By the next day I was much better and by my follow-up appointment the following week, I was cured! I am now looking forward to having Dr. Blotnick see if I am a candidate for lasik, since my contacts caused the problem in the first place. more

I CAN SEE!!! 3/14/2011

I am extremely satisfied with everything about Mecklenburg Eye Associates. I have worn corrective lenses since the age of 9 with 20/400+ vision in both eyes. I recently underwent cataract surgery using Dr Blotnick and could not be happier. After two weeks on the left eye I am now 20/20 and the same in my right eye the day after surgery. Dr Blotnick is a heck of a surgeon and has a great rapport with his patients. He takes the time needed to answer any question and he really does care. The entire staff is excellent from the front desk team to Laurie, Dr Blotnick's tech. My wife and I both had both eyes done over the past couple months and we definitely recommend MEA. We had no long waits for what is a very busy practice. more

Inefficient Patient Service 11/28/2010

I had a similar experience as ladyfrench42. When I have an appointment I do not expect to wait 3 hours to be seen. My time is valuable and I do not like to waste it. Most of my time was spent sitting in the waiting room with nothing to do but look at the crowd waiting. The only reason I stayed is that it is November and I don't have time to see another dr before the end of the year. Will not make that mistake again nor will I go back to MEA. more

Friendly Doctor would recommend 6/22/2010

I had a red painful eye and called several offices to see if I could get seen quickly. No practice would get me in for several days until I called Mecklenburg Eye Associates. The secretary told me to come to the office right away. The doctor was friendly and even gave me a sample of an eyedrop. I was better within 2 days. Now I recommended my family to see them. Thanks.
