Went to the Meat Market last week for dinner and it was not good. My wife and I ordered the 28 oz. Kobe Ribeye to share. It was not good. While, Ribeye does have some fat, this piece of meat for $78.00 was poor quality. And on top of that, the waitress said it was the staff's favorite steak. I hate to see what the other cuts of steak taste like. Ambiance is nice and energetic. Drinks and appetizers were fine. But the main course turned us off. We won't be going back. Save your money and go to BLT or Prime One Twelve. more

I've always gone to Prime 112 for steak and now I'm sorry I waited so long to try this place! It was pouring rain outside but we were seated right away. Our waiter was knowledgable and had great suggestions. The drinks were delicious and the food was amazing! My steak was cooked perfectly medium inside but still had that charred flavor on the outside. Oyster starter was yummy but I'd pass on the lobster mash next time. I'll definitely be back. more

After waiting 45 minutes for a table and getting robbed at the bar, next to some geriatrics in mini skirts, we walked passed tons of empty tables to sit all the way in the back, cause I was with some jewfros in shorts and sandals, in Miami Beach...chelloooo! I can't tell you how the food was cause I fell asleep waiting. I tried to take my $100 steak to the pawn shop afterwards but apparently, bricks are no longer a commodity. The only meat at this market is BOLOGNA. Don't feed into it. more

I went to the Meat Market last night with friends. I could have flown to Colorado in the same amount of time it took to get our meal, and the I could have gotten the same quality steak for the Outback. The only thing that really stood out was the amount of the bill ($400). Also, the server was really nice. Recommended if your tired of being disappointed with your significant others cooking and you want to be disappointed somewhere else. more

If the word diet doesn't exist in your vocabulary, the wood-grilled kobe meatloaf wrapped in bacon ($24) is solace on a plate. A liberal portion of succulent meat bathing in its juices is enhanced with the essences of the smoky wood, mango barbecue sauce and earthy truffle, all complimented with crispy onions and truffle mash. more

Great atmosphere! Slightly overpriced but everything was as good as Prime 112 which we ate at the night before. more

Great food only problem to close for comfort for my husband and I. The tables are extremely tight and when your paying those prices I like privacy. more

Worth the money. Creative appetizers, amazing filet mignon! Great drinks, tons of choices of sides. We had the chargrilled oysters (pricey but incredible at $22), the filet mignon (12 oz and 6 oz), a side of asparagus (ok) and lobster mashed potatoes (awesome!) and the ice cream with fruit for dessert. The restaurant was loud so it's not the place for a quiet candlelit dinner, but it's tasty, had decent service, and still quite romantic. Very recommended. Also it has a nice bar area up front and I think they serve appetizers up there along with all the cocktails, so it could be a nice place to meet a friend or date for drinks and a semi-quick bite. more

Succulent Steaks and Expertly Mixed Cocktails 4/22/2010

I recently had dinner at Meat Market on a Friday night and it was absolutely phenomenal. It did take about 45 minutes for a table to open up and even the bar seating was full, but it was well worth the wait. Everything from the puffed maize appetizers to the cheesecake dessert were to die for. I ordered a rare/medium rare steak with cabernet reduction on the side and ever last bite was perfectly seasoned. The true mark of a great steak is not needing any additional spices or sauce and this made the cut. The server made an excellent wine pairing for the meal and although service was slow at times, the atmosphere provided plenty to keep you entertained. It has a great, stylish crowd and the decor is just as posh. My pre-dinner cocktail was expertly mixed and they also have a fairly extensive wine menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a delicious dinner in an upbeat location. Pros: everything on the menu is amazing Cons: its popularity brings in a crowd more

Dear Meatmarket Owners 2/16/2010

When you expect your patrons to pay high-end prices, you have to hold up your end of the bargain. It should not take 20 minutes to make my first drink order. My waitress, after making me wait 20 minutes, should not have the anxious demeanor of a heroin addict waiting for her next fix for me to get my order out. She should not treat questions asked about the menu as a timewaster as her eyes flick to the other tables who have also been waiting 20 minutes. Then after taking said order, it should not take 15 additional minutes for my drink to arrive. Pros: Outdoor seating allows access to Lincoln Rd Freakshow Cons: Value for money, terrible service more

First, we had reservations and they had given our table away when we arrived which we could have forgiven. The service for a Saturday night was aweful. We had 4 people waiting on us but we never had refills on our drinks. Then after the meal, we asked for our leftovers and they threw them away. The manager offered us a free drink as compensation but considering the price of the steak, definitely not worth it. The food was ok. If they had good service I'd recommend this place but I'd say there are better places in south beach! more

Worth the drive, plane flight, or boat ride from anywhere!!! 2/13/2010

Last year we were so desperate to find a new and fresh place to fine dine, we thought it would take a flight to New York, LA, or across the pond. Pros: The entire menu including specialty drinks Cons: If you have time restraints, this is not fast food more

Great 12/28/2009

This place was amazing. I don't know why people wrote such bad reviews. Perhaps they eat out at the fanciest restaurants all the time. But, if a dinner at this price range is something that is saved for a few special occasions then I would suggest you go here, for me it was special and the food was amazing. Pros: food more
