What seemed to be an upscale, fancy steakhouse, turned out disappointing. The kitchen at Fleming's is exposed to the guests. After 15min, I wished I wasn't sitting "in the kitchen...

Forget Berns!The 11/18/2002

By far, one of the Best dining experiences in Tampa. Finnally, a high end steakhouse where the atmosphere, service and food is not "STUFFY"! Great value for the money, the lounge area is very high energy, staff - friendly and efficient, but I must admit Fleming's has one of the best wines by the glass programs that I have ever seen. And very affordable. Their wine flights are a great way to sample different wine taste profiles. Service staff will walk you through each flight without making you feel intimidated about wine knowledge. There is always a manager working the floor to ensure that your dining experience is FLAWLESS. A must when visiting the Bay area or for Tampa locals. more

Great For Parties 11/7/2002

I brought a group of twelve into your restaurant last night, and just wanted you to know how impressed I was with everythng. The hostess (I apologize, her name sounded like Bethany?) was very nice, and our server could not have been better. She was very knowledgable and accomodating, and also very witty. You have a great staff, and that makes for a great evening, especially when dining with large groups. more

Two women having dinner 10/20/2002

Be careful where you go to eat if you are dining with another woman. Even after ordering martinis and a nice bottle of wine our waitress acted as if we were not even dining in the restaurant. When asked if we enjoyed our meal and responding that the ribeye was tough she said "well you certainly ate most of it if you did not enjoy it". The steaks were mediocre and the service was a disaster. Not worth the money or the time we spent at the restaurant. more

Great evening out 10/18/2002

We went to Fleming's to celebrate my wife and daughter's birthday. When my wife made the reservation, she was asked if it was a special occassion. When we arrived, our waiter made sure to wish them a happy birthday. The food was prepared just right. I recommend their salad with the house oil and vinegar dressing with blue cheese. The steaks were cooked perfectly, they offer a great selection of wines by the glass and the service was very good and not rushed. Little touches did not go unnoticed. They even deducted the cost of a dessert to celebrate the occassion. I highly recommend this restaurant. Pros: food, service, decor more

Worth a try 10/14/2002

My buisiness partners & I decided to try this place we had heard so many good things about. I've got good news and bad news. Good news, I loved the atmosphere, very cool place. Also, contrary to some reviews, our service was great, ask for Mary. Bad news, the beef may be quality, but where is the flavor. If I'm paying $27 for a filet I want to taste it! I've had more flavorful filets for half that price. Also, the wine is VERY overpriced, by glass and bottle. I would go again, but someone else can pay. I Believe you're missing out on a true gem if you don't try Fleming's... The Wedge Salad is supurb, the Wine List is Excellent and the Rib Eye is the best anywhere... I've tried the other's on the best list and they don't compare... Pros: Ambience, Crowd, Service Cons: Expensive more

Flemings remains at the top of my restaurant list. From the location to the ambience to the furnishings to the service and (best of all) the glorious food. We have the same waiter each time (Scott) who remembers both my wife and myself AND what we last ordered. The steaks are incredible, the extras delicious - all in all - a perfect evening. I snuck into to the bar area with my dad when he came to town - we didn't have a reservation, and he loves his meat-. We ordered a steak, and he still talks about how it was the best steak he's ever eaten and every time he come to Nashville. that is the place to go- dad knows his steak- and the atmosphere was really neat too! more

Fleming's Flaming Service 8/21/2002

Fleming's is a restaurant of distinction. Having a very nice selection of wine's to fit anyone's budge and taste, from moderately priced to very expensive, (but very tasty). The service is enough to spoil anyone, as they wait on you hand and foot not to say the least. The food is excellent. I would also be safe in saying that this is a romantic setting for two, to celebrate or just to enjoy each others company. more

Iam a frequent diner at Flemmings Prime SteakHouse. I find their food,serviceand ambiance quite refreshing after a long hard day at the office or just going out with friends. For wine lovers like myself,their RESERVE list is outstanding and reasonably priced. This is a definate need to try if you already haven't. flemings has been a great place to take good friends, a date with my husband, business meeting, or family members who visit us. the menus has a little bit of everything and a wonderful selection of wine. staff is really friendly and helpful. the food is to die for. i'm getting hungry just thinking about it. more

High Decibel Level !! 8/18/2002

Food was good, though if you want rare order medium rare, medium rare order medium, etc. Service was mediocre. Wait person was great, but seemed to have too many tables. Dining room is like one big seating of too many people. Had to repeat back and forth with waitress and dining partners because you could not understand each other over the noise. Bern's and Charlies break up their dining rooms for a reason. Primarily, keep the noise level down. Also it is not inexpensive. $10.50 for a call brand vodka martini !! Given the above, not worth the price and in my view Charlie's is a much better experience and value. more
