Mc Kerley, Nat, Dvm - Safe Harbor Animal Hospital

I really appreciate Safe Harbor and especially Dr. Peterson. I took my dog to Scenic Hills with many issues however one where he had a cyst on is eyelid and Scenic Hills told me there was nothing they could do. Whereas Dr. Peterson told me no problem we can remove it. They did and did a beautiful job. All the Vets at Safe Harbor have been very considerate and trustworthy and I happily recommend them to anyone I can. more

I encountered Safe Harbor on my way home from taking my Chihuahua puppy to Auburn University for treatment. 3 days after my puppy got to AU, they decided she wasn't treatable and informed me that my puppy needed to be euthanized instead. Even stating that she probably wouldn't last the 4 hour car ride home. The ultimate reason was that she was too small for them to treat. Heck, they barely kept her alive! She came out greatly dehydrated and starving! As soon as we got in the car, she drank water and ate food like it was the last time she would get to! We lucked out when we got Dr. Gina! She was shocked they wanted to euthanize a puppy that was visibly THRIVING! She has been so attentive with my puppy (WHO IS STILL ALIVE AND PROGRESSING 2 WEEKS LATER!). She is very intelligent, diligent, and passionate about animals. Aside from how much I have fallen in love with Safe Harbor because I know they are in this buisness solely for the animals sake, I love their PRICES! I have been there 3x s more

I took my newly rescued cat there. I was very displeased wtih my visit. I had to continually instruct the vet how to give a propper exam. First she looked at my cat and told me he was in great health... then i asked if she had checked his ears (No she hadnt), then i asked her about the mole on his eye and she said it was a growth (DUH, nothing about whether it was a concern, maybe taking a further look), then i asked her about his teeth (she said they were fine, he clearly has gingivits...) so i asked if he was healthy enough for a cleaning, she said his heart sounded good (i remarked Can you even hear his heart through all that purring.. of course she said no and i asked her if she could check it again...) Yah the staff is nice.. but no they are not helpful nor thorough, i think they were just interested in getting their money. more

Recently i went to Safe Harbor because i wanted to board my animlas there, i asked them if i could see the kennel and a young lady took me out there. I was sick when i saw the conditions, it smelled like pure urine, roaches were running everywhere and it was so hot that i could not even breath.The animals that were in there looked half dead probally from the heat and smell needless to say i did not leave my dogs there and i recommend that everyone leaving there animal there should go and look. more

Safe Harbor Clinic is top notch! When Dr. Forgey and Dr. McKerley first bought the clinic from Dr. Monroe, I volunteered for them. What an educational experience. I know first hand the kind of caring and knowledge these two people have! The family atmosphere is special as well. I wouldn't trust any other Vets in town! more

I knew Dr.McKerley when he was a student at Louisiana Tech. He is not only a veterinarian, but a top notch medical technologist. Dr. Nat really cares about his patients, ask my cat Ceaser. Shoot I just wished he worked on people!! more

I've worked at veterinary clinics since 1988.The second vet.asked us whats the first thing that could make or break a business? It's the receptionist. The first time i walked in the door i was greeted by a happy friendly receptionist .Now they close at 6:00 and here i. am coming in at 5:30. Normally people are ready to close up and go home.But not them . Where i worked, the receptionist first thing they would say is (that is when they got through talking to each other ) what can i help u with then the client would tell them then the next thing the receptionist would say is well now u do know we close at 5:00.I personally say that its very rude ! Im a groomer here and clients tell me about how rude the receptionist is and iIsay im sorry that alot of people tell me all the time. I know this was long winded ,but I just wanted to let everyone know i was more relaxed to let my dog board there. Even let me take him to his run ! just wish i could have stayed little bit longer to reensure my more

We have been with other vets in the area & when we got our birds we were recommeded to Dr. Gina. We love the caring enviroment & the fact that you are not just a number that we transferred all of our animals here, they are very dedicated, caring & reasonble. We drive across town (30 Min) & it is worth it more

I took my cat Abbey to Safe Harbor Animal Hospital and Dr. Perez was wonderful. Everyone was friendly from the time I entered the hospital greeted by the office staff, to the young lady that weighed Abbey to the doctor's office. This was the first time I had to take my cat to a vet and it was a wonderful experience. Thank you bunches to the entire staff! more

Best vet we have ever had. We miss them dearly and have had a hard time finding a vet clinic in calfornia as awesome as them. I actually called them from utah to ask about the risk of parvo and they helped me no problem. I could not get a straight answer from any of the vets here! There should be more vets like them here! more

Safe Harbor is not only a safe harbor for our pets while in the care of Safe Harbor Staff, they are the greatest! We took our dog in to be neutered and could see the great care and concern each person in this Animal Hospital has for each animal there. The place is very clean, it doesn't smell of animal in any way, and the staff very knowledgeable and friendly. They truly care for each and every one of the pets they are in charge of. We highly recommend them to anyone who needs medical care for their pet. more

We have been taking our animals to Safe Harbor at least 4 or 5 years. I have a German shepherd and two cats. We have had services such as yearly exams and shots, neutering, and treating my little cat fight victim. Every time I have been to the clinic has been an excellent experience. They have no trouble treating my wild cat or my large dog. The doctors and staff are compassionate and knowledgeable. Best of all, they don't try to do surgery or up-charge every visit, like my former Veterinarian.I can trust the advice I get. A sincere "Thank You" to everyone at Safe Harbor.The Loftin Family more

I took my beagle to Safe Harbor for an emergency and Dr. D was very caring and compassionate. She explained all labs and procedures in detail, she followed up by calling me with lab results, x-ray findings. My dog received the best care and the staff was wonderful. They are not expensive and I will be taking my dog here for all future care. more

All the staff at Safe Harbor are just wonderful with animals of all kinds. The vets here really do care about your pets. There have been times when we have frantically rushed our dog or even once our lizard to Safe Harbor and they have taken wonderful care of them. They also are not overly expensive. more
