As a visitor to Pensacola, I don't understand why this place is held in such esteem. Beyond the bells, whistles, Blarney and high concept theme park showboating, I found the food ...

McGuire's knows how to give you a good time. I've been there several dozen times, and only ONCE did I get bad service...but I think she was knew, and to be fair she was very apologetic. Food is always fabulous, believe it or not the wings are some of the BEST in town. The porter is delicious, atmosphere is one of a kind, and ""Mike,"" a server with curly blonde hair...he is quite possibly the best server I've ever had. He recognized our group the SECOND time we were there! We personally request him every time, now. He's a fantastic server, really does his best to keep the table pre-bussed, doesn't ""hover"" too often or interrupt conversation, but always keeps the drinks full and the food hot. He is top notch. Go to McGuire's, ask for Mike, and tip him GENEROUSLY.\r \r all in all, one of my favorite places EVER. Pros: fantastic service, great food Cons: occasionally parking is an issue. but just a testament to how good they are! more

Awesome Experience 3/13/2006

Great ambiance. Brew all their beer. Service excellent. Jason, our server, went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Menu is funny, for example there is the ""Garbage Burger"" which is ""absolutely disgusting."" 25-30 different burgers. I ordered the Onion Mushroom Blackened Swiss Burger, REALLY GOOD! My boyfriend had the Gouda Burger which he loved. Beer Sampler was good. Light is alright for a light beer, actually had some flavor. Red also was pretty good, one of my favorites. Raspberry Wheat was yummy, reminded me of raspberry flavored clearly canadian water but yummy. Porter was good and the boyfriend loved it. Stout wasnt my thing, but the boyfriend loved it. Irish Pale Ale, was really good as well. Server suggested we try Porter or Stout with Raspberry Wheat. We had both, I prefer Stout and Raspberry, had a more chocolately flavor and Raspberry adds some nice flavor. Pros: GREAT BEER!, GREAT FOOD!, GREAT SERVICE! Cons: crowded more

Great food, great fun, great place! 8/11/2005

I've only been here once so far but I left my mark on a dollar bill stapled to the wall and I will make my second visit this weekend. The food was fantastic and the service was top of the line. The dinner area (for the most part) is set aside from the bar area which makes for a nice dining experience. When you're done, you can rejoin the crowd at the bar (even if you're not drinking) and just have a good time. The bar is crowded but it's a lot of fun and everyone knows everyone else. Pros: Great food, Great service, A relaxed environment Cons: Crowed around the bar, Can get a little loud, Parking can be tough more

McGuire's has great food. You can get hamburgers with any kind of topping you can think of. The ambience is fun. Be sure and look at all the dollar bills all over the walls. the only bad things is that kids are only allowed before 4 pm. Pros: great food, good parking, great atmosphere Cons: crowded more

As in 4 Stars! McGuire's is famous on the Gulf Coast. It has all the ingredients for a perfect night out. 2 great locations: Destin and Pensacola both offer a unique atmosphere and gift shop. McGuire's brews it's own special ales and I recommend living a little and trying the more outrageous seasonal beers if they are available. The food is wonderful and so different from the other tourist-trap establishments you'll find all over the area. BE SURE TO GET THE IRISH BOXTY'S AS AN APPETIZER! Pros: Atmosphere, Unique Menu, In-house brewery more

more than just burgers 10/21/2002

McGuires Irish pub is the best place in Pensicola. Excellant food from the huge and delicious steaks, to fried calamari rings, to the great big huge taco salad for two, you just cannot beat McGuires. Try a sausage sampler, or more than 15 different style burgers. There is entertainment almost every night with the weekend being the best (Irish songs and comedy) And try the Irish Wake the house specialty drink, its served in a decorated mayo type jar. And the beer... they brew it right there on premises, rasberry ale is my fave, but they have red, light, regular and guiness too. All in all you really cannot beat this place for food atmosphere or fun. oh and there is a gift shop. Pros: Food, beer, entertainment Cons: line, crowd more
