Great Food, Gets Busy 12/6/2010

Maxwells near the Mwtrodome has great food, but can be very busy during Vikings games. If you want to hang out with other fans and share a pre-game beer and apps, this is the place to do it. If you prefer a quieter spot, stay away before, during and after Vikings games. more

I have been going to this place for at least 5 years. I mainly go for the fantastic happy hour specials. It can get busy during the later happy hour, but you will have no trouble finding a spot from 4-6pm. Service is always good and the food comes out really fast. Love the wings! If your looking for a great pub with awesome food, this is it! Pros: Great Happy Hour more

Reopening Sept 1, 2008 4/3/2008

Its hard for me to want to tell everyone cause I want to keep this place low key so I can get a table and great service as always - but man - Maxwell's has the best buffalo wings in Minneapolis. Better than Runyons. Better than Shorty & Wags. Better than BW3s. Better than Sweeneys in St Paul. Great waffle fries with season sour cream. Oh man. Great Burgers. Great specials. Good selection of brew. Did I tell you I am a professional Buffalo Wing taster. Ohhh mannn I love Maxwells. Pros: the tastey wings Cons: impossible that there is a bad thing about this place more

Ice Castle, not a restaurant... 3/21/2008

So I went there expecting lunch food and maybe a pretty large beer selection, and then I saw that a bunch of hoods came by and trashed the place. Unless this is a new word-of-mouth campagin, I really don't understand. The design of the ice castle was very interesting...so I went to Bobby and Steve's gas station for some chips and a hotdog and made a day of it. All in all, this place was pretty awesome. Maxwell's is closed as of Feb. 2008 2/28/2008

Maxwell's suffered a major fire in Feb. 2008. It is not known if/when it will reopen. Probably a good idea to call before you attempt to visit. more

Pretty good food 3/17/2007

Food is pretty good especially the buffalo wings and fries. The j. Tuna is pretty bad though. Stay away from it if you know whats good for you. more

Great food, great service, get the nachos 10/7/2006

Maxwell's is by far my favorite bar in Minneapolis. Their food is excellent, especially the $3 burrito (wednesday special), all you can eat fish (friday), and the nachos. The specials are great and the staff is always friendly and very prompt. It's tough to get a table before/after a Vikings/Twins/Gophers game (especially when the outside is closed), but it's worth the wait. Four Stars! 6/28/2005

Stopped here on way to Twins Game. The servers here got it 100% right. They are prompt, friendly, and visable. The Quesadillas are outstanding, as well as the walleye fingers. Friendly folks and patrons make this place a must when in the area. more
