Maxwell's Chophouse

On vacation in FL we had a Saturday night dinner at Maxwell?s. The food was very good. We had reservations and showed up a couple of minutes early. There was no need to show up early, the restaurant was very packed and we ended up waiting for a half an hour for our table. We hung out at the bar since there were no stools available, and decided that we did not want to eat in the same room as the bar due to the crowded situation and people being forced to hover near tables. Luckily we were seated at a table in another dining room which was much quieter and more spacious. We all ordered appetizers, then steaks and each of us ordered a side. In the end it was way too much food. My suggestion would be to order your sides in moderation; each side was more than enough for two people. The only thing that we ordered that we did not receive was the baked potato, which we ended up canceling due to all the food in front of us. The table was also large enough to handle all of the plates of food. Each of our aged steak was cooked to perfection and very tasty. We also ordered a couple of desserts which were very delicious. Overall the food and atmosphere were excellent, and would definitely return. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Crowded bar room, would not want to eat dinner there more

I have eaten there many times and never had a bad experience. The food is excellent and is worth every penny and they have a lovely selection of wines to choose from. The wait staff is very attentive and never leave you with an empty glass. You leave the restaurant full and happy..if you dont wish to dine, they have a really nice bar to sit and chat. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.. Pros: food, atmosphere, waitstaff/managers are knowledgeable and attentive Cons: wait too long to get the car - not enough valet attendants more

I was recently there with a party of 10 or so to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a Sunday evening, so we didn't expect there to be much atmosphere in the dining room. However, our server was a bit much. He apparently was well aware of the automatic gratuity going into a party of our size, and was upselling side items and appetizers like a car salesman. Repeatedly we asked him to remove things he was personally adding to our order, and then still received more than we ordered. AND were billed for each additional item that was untouched. My friend's parents did not want to make a scene, making the dinner unpleasant for their daughter, so there was nowhere near the amount of fuss made that should have been.
