Maxwell Silverman's Restaurant

I went to Maxwell Silverman's last weekend with my wife. We sat at a table along the wall, half was a cushioned bench while the other half was chair. Very comfortable seating. Our server, I am not sure of her name, was a young girl who seemed to be genuinely happy.. this is very hard to find now-a-days when you go out to enjoy a meal. She was quick to make conversation and make us feel very comfortable and welcomed. I ordered a lobster stuffed with shrimp and scallops. The stuffing was delicious! I would recommend this dish to anyone who loves their seafood as much as I do. My wife asked the waitress what she recommended for seafood, she said any of the lobster specials or the stuffed shrimp. She got the shrimp and loved it! The atmosphere was okay, I'd rate the food & service higher than the atmosphere. The old tools were neat but the disco ball threw off the theme. We will be back. more

To the person who wrote the comment about Maxwell's management being poor let me tell you that you are dead wrong! How can you even say that this gentleman does not care about anything? do you know him at all? My company and I have been doing business at Maxwell's and thru Alex and let me tell you that our experience has been nothing but pleasant all the way! He treats everyone fairly and that is the reason we and many other people keep coming back to Maxwell's and Club Maxine's. Please do not offend the credibility of an individual on a forum like this one, normally i would have never posted anything anywhere good or bad but your comments angered me to this point. Honestly your comments definatly will never affect Mr. Giordanos business or the credibility of the G.M. The things that they have done for me, my family and our business and for many others solidifies their reputation as caring individuals who do not need this kind of comments to try and ruin their day. An okay experience has turned into an awful one due to the uninterested and uncommitted General Manager, Alex. He seemed like he did not care about my function or patronage. I had my rehearsal dinner there. Pros: Okay Food Cons: Management, Bad Service, Rodents more

This was our first time eating here (Brunch) and will most certainly be our last. To begin with the food is not that good, I am a chef and this stuff wouldnt be up to par in a respectable greasy spoon. The help were either rude or dismissive with the exception of the older gentleman that greeted us. The guests were just as rude as the help but I guess you cant expect to much from Rhode Islanders or Worcesterians. A couple of woman (typical) thought nothing about jumping in line ahead of others without so much as a ""pardon me"" or ""do you mind"". I would have preferred to stay at home and cook our own little brunch, in fact I think that is what we will do from now on until we can find places worthy of our patronage. PS... Dont you wonder why no one else has reviewed this place since 2007? Cons: no redeeming qualities whatsoever! more

A group of us were at Maxwell Silverman's Sunday Brunch and it was beyond our expectations. The building is amazing, the decor appealing and the food outstanding. The service by Ben was exceptional and he was always there with whatever we needed. Table was cleared quickly so never had the look of empty plates. The array of food was beyond expectation and everything was ""hot:"" if it was supposed to be hot and ""cold"" if it was intended to be cold. The decor in the room we were in was bright and attractive, the seating was comfortable and everyone in our party of 13 said they would definately be back. I went for a rehearsal dinner and I've seen so much confusion in my life. We actually walked up and down 2 floors 3 times before the staff figured out where we were supposed to be. There was one cocktail waitress for 50 people so it took forever to get a drink. The people, especially the bartender downstairs and the host were extremely rude. I coudn't believe because the place seemed so nice. Then to top it off they forgot to charge for the champagne toast so they made the last person there pay 150.00 on his credit card instead of contacting the people who were paying for it all. I would never go back here and I certainly would not have my rehearsal dinner here. You do not need that aggravation the day before you get married. Pros: nice ambience Cons: rude staff more
