Best

I had the pleasure of eating at Max Lager's for the last 2 nights while in Atlanta for a conference. I want to commend the staff who served us tonight, particularly your hostess ...

Worst

I had a steak dinner, and a friend had salmon in early January, 2009 while in Atlanta for training. The atmosphere was okay, but the meal was unimpressive. The food reminded me of...

Perfect Place for Rehearsal Dinner 10/2/2008

Thank you Max Lager's for being so accommodating for our rehearsal dinner on June 20th! We had more people show up than expected and the staff did the most wonderful job taking care of us and were so pleasant throughout the entire night (even when we were being difficult). Every single guest loved Max Lager's from the food to atmosphere. It was truly perfect for Brad and me.\r We'll definitely be back and want to let everyone know what a great experience we had.\r more

Great food & Service 10/2/2008

I was in Atlanta for business recently. I was staying at the Hyatt near Max Lagers and saw their ad in the Delta inflight magazine. Myself and my coworker ate there three nights in a row. I am a very picky restaurant goer and was very impressed with the quality of food and the level of service that we received from your servers, especially Lisa. I will be sure to visit Max Lagers next time I'm in Atlanta. I have friends in the ATL metro area and will be sure to tell them about Max Lager's. Keep up the good work. more

Great Spot for Travelers Staying Downtown 10/2/2008

We referred guests from The ""ProgPower Conference"" we held at our hotel (The Inn at The Peachtrees Hotel) to Max Lager's and one guy was telling us at the front desk how he wished there was Max Lager's in his city so he could get the Fish & Chips there!! A few guests stopped by to drink a few beers on Friday before heading out to the conference and loved it! Just wanted to say once again, we really appreciate Max Lager's support & look forward to sending more business that way. You guys are the best!\r Debbie Stagg\r Director of Sales\r more

Best Bartender/Drinks and Service Around 4/23/2008

If you're looking for a place to dine or drink dowtown Atlanta you must go to Max Lagers. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is good and money is right. However the best part of Max Lagers is the wonderful staff they have, they're very attentive and always greet you with a smile. I highly recommend Max Lagers to anyone in downtown Atlanta.\r \r Tanisha is by far the best bar tender I have ever met. She makes the place even more enjoyable to attend.\r \r Jay White - Stool L1 Pros: Atmosphere, Wait staff, Food Cons: No flat screeens down stairs more

Average food, average service 1/18/2008

I was very excited to try this place, but was very let down. The food was mediocre at best and our server was not very good either. The beer was okay - I liked the seasonal amber brew. It was a disappointment! Pros: The brew there own beer Cons: service more

Great food and service to match 12/19/2007

Dear Max Lager,\r \r During a recent stay in Atlanta, of all the resturants on peachtree street, I found myself choosing you establishment. Your resturant was clean cozy, but most of all the food was SO...SO... GOOD. Max Lager's gets two thumbs up. On my next visit, I am looking forward to ordering the pork chops and hopefully Rena's the bartender. \r \r That evening the bar was very busy, but Rena managed to provide professional sevice with a smile, which I believe is a big part of any resturant experience. So, I thank Max's for a great dining experience and I hope to see you soon! Pros: great food, great price, great service Cons: walking-up stairs to restroom area more

good customer service 5/27/2007

A decent place to socialize..\r Service was friendly..\r Drinks were cool..\r Food was pretty ok...\r The crowd was alright... more

A great start and end 3/28/2007

On my most recent trip to Atlanta this was the first and last place we found ourselves for dinner. The food is really good and the service is very friendly. My only beef was that on the first day we went (a monday) they were out of all the seasonal beers. The chicken wings were pretty good, but they only offer a mixture of them if you get 20. Get lots of stuff to share. Pros: Nice outdoor seating, friendly staff, can split checks Cons: Ran out of seasonals when I went more

Great place to relax & dine 2/14/2006

I had the filet mignon and it was superb. The salad was excellent but most of all I enjoyed those fresh baked flaky biscuits...they melt in your mouth. We did not go into eat until around 8:40 / 9:00 pm so there was no waiting and the service was attentive & efficient. I'd surely go back again but I'll try the ribs next time. more

Great offerings 10/3/2005

Always looking for a healthy meal, Max Lager's works great for me. Their big salads with grilled meats are the way to go. I have always enjoyed my experiences at Max Lagers and go every chance I get. Parking in the back is ok, although not free. But it is easy off the hiway from Buckhead. I usually have wine, but I had to try the Okctoberfest which was awesome...full bodied with a nice flavor. Great with my salad and my husband and daughter love the ribs. Thanks Max, we'll be back ! Pros: great kids menu, value priced, healthy food more

This place has let me down twice! 9/18/2005

The first time, I dined with my father and brother in 2000. I remember thinking how average the food was and how poorly the beer tasted, especially for a ""brewery"". Fast forward to 2005, my wife and I had a concert to attend nearby and thought we'd give this place another try. Another Bad Idea! I had one of their pizzas, which was stale flatbread with weak sauce and a dollup of cheese. My wife had a calzone which consisted of lots of ricotta cheese stuffed into a burrito shell. However, we actually came for the beer; it's a brewery right? Well, which was consistently unusually warm and watered-down. I also think putting bananas in a HefeWeizen was not their best idea. Although the location is great for downtown, this place does not live up to what it could be. After two bad encounters, I won't be chancing a third. Pros: location Cons: food, beer more

Good place for late night eats downtown 10/2/2004

Went here on a Thursday night, was kind of empty in there, but I suppose that's downtown Atlanta on a weeknight... Jalapeno onion rings -- mmmm.... Service was good, food was good. Beer coulda been colder, and we didn't think any of our samples stood out with distinction. I'd have to give the nod to Gordon Biersch up the road on Peachtree, but Max's is fine if you're at a downtown hotel seeking a brew pub experience. Pros: Downtown brewpub more

I liked it, I really liked it! 6/9/2004

Had a wonderful experience at Max Lager's. From the fresh ice cold beer to their delicious wood fired pizza. A cozy location in downtown is convenient to my office. I'll be back! Pros: nice decor, good selections, tasty beer more
