Planning a wedding in three months we weren't sure we would be able to secure such a sought after Photographer. After our first meeting with Matt and his presentation of his work and the detail with which he described left no doubt this was a very passionate person about Photography. As you can see in comparing Matt to other photographers, you are receiving an amazing value for the quality you receive. We were blessed to secure Matt for the last beautiful weekend in Nov 2010. The gingko trees displayed amazing fall colors at Travelers Rest Plantation which gave Matt an unbelievable background to work with. Matt did the photography for my wedding at the Loveless Barn. He was very creative in his ideas and I was very pleased with the end results. I didn't want typical bride/groom portraits and he didn't try to force me into it (though his portfolio showed that he's great at this too). My daughter got married in Albany, Georgia where she has relocated with her now husband. We flew Matt to Albany on Friday evening for the wedding on Saturday. Saturday morning we were awakened around 4:30 with thunder, lightening, and rain. The rain finally tapered off, but we were all very nervous about the rain starting up again. Matt was so calm when we spoke with him and he wanted me to assure my daughter that the photographs would turn out fine, that actually overcast skies were better for the pictures. He was absolutely right. They were beautiful. His eye for detail is amazing. Every time I look at the pictures, I find a new favorite! Matt was the perfect photographer for our wedding! He was so energetic and you could tell he enjoyed every minute of his work! His artistic spin on the photos was amazing and made for some very unique photos! I felt like he spent extra time making everything perfect and getting those breath taking shots! Matt was the photographer for my wedding in Chattanooga, and could not have been easier to work with, or friendlier. Many of my family members and wedding guests commented on how nice he was, and how unobtrusive he was during the ceremony and reception. Let me give you a local example. . . If a person were coming to Nashville to break into the music business, it would be a given that they are a stellar singer, they should play the guitar and they'd better be able to write. Having all that in place, there must be magic that makes them a star. Matt's magic is his spirit. His calm graciousness set him apart from the madness at the Bridal Edge Show. We've known him for a year now and every call, every e-mail is kind and respectful. He met with us and took the time to get to know our daughter and her groom, to learn their personalities and how they wanted to express who they are, what their relationship is about and what they wanted to ""say"" on their wedding day. Then he suggested venues (making whatever venue we wanted possible), ""scenes"" and lighting that would best relate to their story. Working with Matt early on their engagement photos was a fun day, allowing us a break from just planning the wedding, and giving us a wonderful prelude to what we could expect (gorgeous pictures too, 'natch!) But Matt's special magic really came through at the wedding. You don't need any extra drama that day! Matt's easygoing demeanor added a layer of calm - as he gently guided all wedding attendants and our honored guests through the day. No ""cattle call"" feel. And no ego! If he needs extra personnel to capture your day, he provides them - and cheers on their work!. He arrives early and will stay till the last shot you want taken is captured. Our photos were spectacular and he offers processing options which display them in a unique ""wooden book"" format (if you'd like) with a beautiful buttery leather cover. After your event Matt will work like crazy to get you your photos quickly. Matt will be photographing our family through all our kid's life experiences. I first came across Matt via a City Search listing for Nashville photographers not too long after he had jumpstarted his work. Compared to higher priced photographers I had also researched, his work equaled and usually exceeded theirs and I was very impressed! So, for my upcoming Tennessee wedding, I decided to contact Matt and see if he was available for the day. He was quick to respond to my email and immediately set up a meeting date with my fiancee and I at the local Books-a-Million coffee shop in Madison, TN. I was very pleased with the samples that he had brought depicting recent weddings he had done, as well as his lovely photo book creations. (My favorite!!) I could tell right away that he was very honest, up front, and ready to do whatever he could to capture every special moment for us. more
