800 sf basement remodel 8/12/2016

Matrix did a great job on our basement. Brian was great during the design phase and throughout the project at accounting for any future design needs as well as space constraints. The crews were all professional and good at their craft. We have received compliments on the carpentry of the crown molding and the cool alternative of the painted exposed ceiling. The electrician, John, was great about planning ahead for future outlet needs. We are so glad that we decided to rough in the plumbing for a future bathroom as well as a future wet bar. It will make a second phase that much easier. The crews cleaned up nightly and always kept me informed of work flow. We would recommend Matrix to friends and family. more

Excellent Service 1/4/2016

The Matrix crew/team were very professional, and friendly.The basement /work area was always kept clean.Everyday's work was cleaned-up.I was always informed about the schedule and plans.There were absolutely no surprises,project finished on-time,on-budget with great quality.The lead carpenter Don was absolutely great to work with and so was the Project Manager Brian and the Sales Manager Mike Zachary. more

Matrix Installation was Good 1/3/2016

I waited 6 months after completion of work to post this. I wanted to be sure that I did not have any outstanding concerns or issues after posting any review. Overall the basement installation was good. I think it is important (and this applies to any contractor) that as a homeowner you pay attention to detail. If something is not done correctly or is missing, you need to get right on it. We did have several cases where something wasn't right and we asked to have some work be redone. The project took a little longer than expected, mostly due to some days lost redoing some work or waiting for materials. As questions and issues came up I was able to work with the Project Manager and onsite workers. After the installation was complete, we had 2 instances that I needed addressing. Matrix arranged to have someone make the repairs in a timely manner. I am pleased that Matrix really does stand behind their work. If you are concerned with your long term investment in your basement, I would definitely recommend Matrix Basement Systems. more

Never use Matrix. 12/30/2015

I wouldn’t give them any stars but the system doesn’t allow it. If you are trying to decide which company to use compared to Matrix. Go with the other company. It has taken them 4 months to build a basement bar. I’ve seen companies gut a whole house in 6 weeks. Brian is one of the owners here in Illinois, and is a perfect reflection of how terrible this company is. We got the owner involved because of the total disregard we received from their representatives. Since we called to complain to him there has been zero phone calls from him to see how things were coming along. Just a simple phone call is too difficult of a task for him to perform. It took numerous phone calls from myself and my wife. What did he do? Nothing. Then there is the gentleman named Brian that designed our bar. The service he provided was worse than the owner. The quality isn’t there and neither is the customer service. Brian was brought in to pick up where Josh ruined everything. Brian didn’t do any better, and their actual workers that built the bar were aggressive and disrespectful. My wife didn’t feel comfortable with their workers in our home. I hope this review will not only save you money and time. I hope it saves you from the stress and poor craftsmanship we received from Matrix. more

Excellent work 11/19/2015

The product sold me. The installation went very smoothly. The build crew and electrical crew were especially efficient and did a great job with installation and clean up. They took the time to explain what they were doing at every step. I was especially impressed with the crew chief, Matt Fell, and his ability to design and build a beautiful cabinet/shelf combination surrounding a window. more
