It's happened to us all. You have a comfortable, meaningful relationship with your hairdresser & then he leaves you to pursue the joys of parenthood with his new, rich husband. At least that's what happened to me when I was forced to book an appointment I was sure I was going to hate. At the suggestion of a co-worker, who I must admit had a pretty swanky cut, I reluctantly called to book an appointment with Racheal, but she wasn't available. Since I was headed out that night, I asked if anyone else could fit me in as late as possible. At least I'd have the one good hair night where THEY fix it, you know the way you can't EVER get it to look again at home. The receptionist said I'd be with Kyle.(Come to find out, he's the Mathis of Mathis Murphy, What a hottie!!) I arrive, take a seat in the fountain garden& am offered a glass of wine. The place seems to have an Asian inspired motif, which I found very peaceful. They played a great variety of music. The soap in the bathroom smells great, and if an employee hadn't asked about payroll, I would have never known I was getting a cut from the Owner of the salon. No Pretention here. He asked several questions regarding my likes and dislikes and got to work. HAPPY ISN'T THE WORD. I WAS GORGEOUS. It's as if he just KNEW what I wanted, and what I'd been searching for in all of those years of tearing out pictures bringing them in and trying to describe that I just wanted someone to CONSIDER ME, before they cut my hair. You know... bone structure, skin tone, lifestyle etc. And OHHHMMMM My God. Bliss just doesn't cover how good it feels to have struck hairdresser gold. Now I know this may sound like an Urban Legend, but the following day I got out of the shower, threw some serum in my hair, let it air dry, and had a doo as cute as if I'd fussed in the mirror for hours. I hope parenthood works out for my
ex (hairdresser that is), because in all of our years together... HE NEVER DID THAT FOR ME. I'm sold and I'm pre-booked!!
Pros: All the Swank of an Upscale Beverly Hills salon without the pretense or the price
Cons: Parking, but if you come early you can look in the cool gallery beforehand.
