A little History 5/25/2006

I went here a few year ago with my sons elementary school 6th grade class. He absolutely loved it. he could have stayed for a week or more learning and talking about history. He learned a lot about the slaves, blacksmithing, and cars. The workers were all very friendly and answered all of my sons questions carrying on lengthy conversations with him. They also had a nice train ride and a small animal barn yard. If you have not been there and are looking for an indoor/out door type museum in southern Michigan this is the place. more

SO MUCH TO SEE AND ENJOY----ONE OF MY FAVORITE SPOTS!!!! 3/20/2006

I never tire of Greenfield Village nor the museum. I love the layout of the village with all its little shoppes and the old schoolhouse. The little ride you can take on the river boat and the church. It is all so lovely and hold so many memories for me taking my kids as they were growing up and I even recall going there when I was in HIgh school. I think if you are visiting from out of state this is a MUST SEE....don't shortchange yourself. Come and plan to spend a beautiful day! more

Great place to spend the day 8/21/2005

I just went to the museum a week ago and loved it. The ford museum has a great format, very easy to get around. Tons of attractions that you would not expect to find. Very family friendly, there is something for everyone. I was so surprised by how fun this place was. Buy the two for one ticket and visit the village and the museum, together they are like $26.00, pretty good for a day of fun. The village is very well done. It is so clean and cute. A great place to take the family. Everything is so interactive. more

Not Your Typical Museum 8/19/2005

Take your family. Yes, the kids will love this place. It is not the typical history museum. There is so much to do you could spend several days there. They've got a huge indoor museum with things you won't see anywhere else. You've got to take a look at the Rosa Parks Bus. They also have an enormous village of historic buildings where you could spend several days just here. They have activities constantly, craftspeople blowing glass, making pottery, weaving, farming, etc. They have a great IMAX theater that shows first run studio films and they run the Ford Rouge factory tours. I took the factory tour earlier this year and I was completely impressed. I had never seen the inside of a modern car factory and I had an image of a dark and dirty depressing place. It was clean, modern, and very impressive. Made you want to run out a buy a new Ford! If you're local you should buy a membership--it is the cheapest way to go, otherwise seeing everything can be expensive. more

Always an Excellent Outing 8/18/2005

I've been going here since I was a small child, it's something you never get tired of. Their displays are fabulous and ever-changing, and you get a lot of information about things you never knew had an interesting story behind them. The village is lots of fun, especially when you hit it off with one of the volunteers and they start telling you extra stuff that's not in their normal "spiel". The glass-making is my favorite exhibit, it's fascinating to watch. more
