Best Sushi I have ever had! 1/13/2008

I live in the Montrose area and work in the Woodlands. I was so depressed when I went to go work in The Woodlands because I would be missing out on all the great sushi places in the inner loop, but then I found Masa's. This is a great little place that has the best sushi I have ever had. The fish is so fresh and tasty. I try to eat at Masa's for lunch at least once a week and sometimes my husband and I drive there on the weekends. I would highly recommend going to Masas. You will not be disappointed. Pros: Parking, Ambience, Food Cons: Service can be slow at times more

Masa's Robata Resturant - Totemo Jozu!! 5/3/2007

Having lived almost 20 years in Japan (Tokyo), Masa's is a blessing for great sushi, some Japanese conversation, and great personal service and banter with Masa ( he is behind the counter making the sushi everyday. Masa loves new people and greets everyone as they enter. If you are the least bit skittish about ""raw"" sushi tell him and he will guide you lots of sushi that is safer for the stomach. He offers many more dishes (tempura, sukiyaki,, beef, chicken etc) other than the sushi menu. Masa and his wife are lovely people. I highly recommend it. He has tables for up to 6-8, and then a private eating area with the hole in the floor for knees (thank goodness), that is fun for larger groups. Parking is good, never too crowded, service is good. Price is good as well. more

Master sushi chef in The Woodlands - hurray! 11/23/2006

I?ve eaten at a lot of sushi restaurants across this country and am a tough critic of this art form. Masa?s ranks at the top. Get to know Masa. He is a seasoned master sushi chef with a great personality. His menu items are better than most like his salmon ceviche served spicy in a large martini glass or his tuna special with fresh tuna and cucumber wrapped in rice paper served with a delicious sauce. His Spanish Mackerel sashimi is artfully served on this small fish?s body. Even when you are done, you?re not. Ask the kitchen to fry the body into crispy pieces and serve it with dipping sauce. Pros: Easy to find. Great and creative chef. Cons: When busy, service is a little off but the food doesn't suffer. Sit at the bar to avoid. more

Sushi is worth the trip 5/13/2006

basically if you can find this little place stuck back in the woodlands goto it. Its a nice little shop that has good ambience and the service is good. Their funny specialty woodlands rolls they have are fantastic. quality of their sushi is as good as or better than anything in houston, and i have eatten at quite a few. Their choice of other japanese foods besides sushi and sashimi is also very nice. The prices are also slightly higher than most local sushi places but the quality of everything they serve is well worth it. Pros: SUSHI, Other food selection, Specialty Rolls Cons: price but not really more
