Rude Service 12/4/2011

We've gone to Masona dozens of time since their opening in W Roxbury. We only live a few block from this restaurant - so enjoyed the evening walk to this restaurant. However, the quality of the food has gone progressively downhill. Often we discuss driving somewhere because of this. Nonetheless - our decision of never going to this restaurant again has been finalized. My husband and I ate at Masona at the end of last week and I was disgusted with the way Manny, the owner - treated a women who had just had a total knee replacement. He scolded this patron for putting her leg up on a chair stating ""this is not that kind of restaurant""... what kind of restaurant is that? One that is inaccessible and does not have any special accommodations for dinners with special needs? We will NEVER dine there again. more

Check your bill 10/10/2010

The food is okay but check your bill--they can overcharge. Personally, I'd go to the West over Masona any day. The ambiance is nice, however. This was my first visit and I wasn't impressed, but I will give it one more shot. I will just be sure to check my bill again. more

5 Stars!!! 8/8/2009

I have dined at Masona Grill more times than I can count and have never been disapointed. The atmosphere and look of the restaurant are something you wouldn't expect one block off center street in West Robury. The hanger steak,scallpos, and anything ceviche are all to DIE FOR!! Had a soft shell crab special that was unbelievable with a cold cucumber salad and the best sweet potato fries EVER! The freshness and simplicity of the food make this one of the best restauntants in Boston. Do yourselves a favor and GO!!> Pros: Amazing food!! Cons: had to wait 20 minutes for a table(Good for them:)) more

Warm and cozy 8/5/2009

We've gone a couple of time as just a couple but this time we went for my birthday, and took the teenagers. Everyone's meal was wonderful. The sweet potato mash was unbelievably good-I've tried to recreate it at home but it's not half as good. The menu offered seasonal items, everything was nice and fresh. The chocolate flourless cake was dense, moist and yummy. Everytime we have gone there, we try something new but always save room for dessert! Pros: best dessert I've had in a long time more

Perfect little restaurant 3/3/2008

I went to Masona Grill last week for dinner with family and a few friends. This is a great restaurant that is tucked away in West Roxbury, if you havent been yet you need to get down there. We started with a few appetizers that were great, the mussles and calamari were unbelieveable. For dinner I had the duck, it was one of the best duck dishes I have found in Boston. Masona has a very extensive wine list as well to complimnet thier menu. I had to pass on dessert because I was stuffed, they looked good though. I would highly recommend this place and I will be returning. Pros: Duck, wine list, service more

Nice West Roxbury Option 11/8/2006

Overall a nice choice for the semi-suburbs - it suffers from the same ailment as other places in the area, just a little too expensive for what you get, but still quite nice. Pros: good food, easy parking, nice atmoshphere Cons: slightly overpriced more
