DO NOT USE MARY PAPE! In my opinion she is not a competent repairman and should not be licensed (if she actually is) to work on tv repairs. I called her and explained that my tv, 4 yr old JVC flat screen HD LCD was experiencing on again off again problems with turning on. When I called her it was working fine, no issues and told her this but she insisted on coming out to take a look because she said it sounded like something easy to replace in my home, under $100 which would save me a huge repair bill in the future. She came to my home on Saturday. I showed her the tv,turned it on, showed her it was functioning properly. She insisted on taking a look inside. She was the first and only person to take the back panel off. She said she needed to take two of the boards back to her shop to replace some power connectors. I paid her the $40 estimate house call fee.She said she will be back the following day at 1pm. At 1pm the following day, I had to call her and ask where she was. She said she didn't have a car and couldn't get a hold of her driver. This went on all afternoon, one excuse after another! She finally showed up at my house around 8 or 830pm. She brought her young son to help?? When she reinstalled the two boards and put back my back panel, there were three extra screws. She said she didn't know how that happened. We went ahead and tried to turn the tv on to test it. Now the tv still powered on but there was no video picture or sound. New problem! She and her son took off the back panel and aimlessly starting ""troubleshootingt "". They randomly unplugged and plugged stuff in, dropping screws, probably shorting out my tv even further. At this time it was 9pm and I told her she needed to come back and fix it tomorrow. She said she would not be able to come back untilTue (today). She came to my home, with a different son. They took the back off the tv and could not find anything else wrong. The HDMI connections would not work. They were all working (blu ray and Verizon fils cable box) on the her first visit on Saturday. I was finally able to get the picture and sound to work using my old RCA cables, but now my high def tv was nothing more than and old blurry screen tv She blamed the ""new"" problem on another module and wanted to take the tv back to her shop. I refused and told her she must have caused the problem with the HDMI because she was obviously the only one who has ever operated on my tv and the fact that it stayed unplugged since Saturday, it is blatantly obvious that she is the one who damaged my tv. She refused to give me my$40 back and had the audacity to write a hand wriitten receipt out on the back of a generic business card. It stated Ihad a repair balance of $140. PLEASE! I escorted her and her son out of my home and told her I would be sending her the repair bill from an authorized JVC repairman. I also told her I will be notifying the BBB, the MacDill AFB legal office to ensure she is not authorized to service military families, and I also told her I will be suing her in civil court to recoup my losses. Bottom line folks, she is not a professional, she is not reliable and did not own up to her accident/mistake. I say again, DO NOT USE MARY PAPE!
