My son has been in this excellent Karate School for going on three years now!!! My entire family just adores the awesome instructor. My son has learned so much and has had a blast doing so. I am very happy that we enrolled my son in this Karate school because Master K not only teaches karate he teaches valuable life skills and awards badges to the kids who prove themselves and demonstrate hard work at school and home. more

Cottage Lake Family Karate rocks! Mr. K does a great job keeping it upbeat and interesting with a nice mix of routines, life skills and weapons training which the kids love. I have been very impressed with Mr. K's communication skills, extra holiday parties and summer camps too. I highly recommend his classes to any kid who wants to learn cool stuff and feel good about himself! more

Writen by Evan Davies, age 13\r \r I have been going to this karate school for about a year and a half, I am in the black belt club and take part in the S.T.O.R.M. Team of role models. After all of my time at this school I have found that, not only does the teacher know what he is doing, he has found a way to creativly teach in a way that the lessons will stick in your mind. After being at the school for over a year I am stronger, more fit, and have more mental discipline. All around I have greatly enjoyed everything that Cottage Lake Family Karate has to offer. more

My son has been attending classes here for almost 1.5 years. In addition to learning the Karate moves, the program also includes a life skill portion which includes a patch when the student shows improvement or demonstrates the skill area. I think it is a good program, and Master K is great with the kids. I recently asked my son why he wanted to continue with Karate, and he said he wanted to become a black belt like Master K. To me that shows that the teacher/owner is definitely a positive role model in his life! If you are considering signing your child up for karate, I recommend you try this school out. more

We love Cottage Lake Family Martial Arts in Woodinville. My son has been taking Karate lessons for about two months now, and he is having a blast. Master Patrick is absolutely fantastic with the kids, and so very patient. My son loves it so much he askes us about every day if he can go to Karate class. Master Patrick has sparked a passion in my son I have never seen before. I am so glad we picked this program and location. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning Karate. more

Our daughter Amber has been taking karate at Cottage Lake Family Karate for about a year and a half now and we have loved it. We wanted her to try karate for the exercise, positivity, self defense, and life lessons provided in martial arts. We have been extremely satisfied with the entire experience and she has loved it as well! She is now 9 and has more self-confidence in both physical and social skills, and we believe karate has been a part of that maturation. Master K is a wonderful teacher who truly cares about the kids and how they are doing in life. We recommend this karate studio to all of our friends and anyone who wants to provide their kids a positive and healthy environment to learn and grow...and get some great exercise in the process.\r Thanks Master K! more

So glad we signed up! 6/7/2011

My 6-year-old daughter has been taking karate classes here for over a year, and we’re very happy with the program. The owner is also the one who teaches her classes. He’s great with the kids. They seem to really like him, and he handles discipline in class very well. The environment there is very positive, which I like. Besides teaching the karate moves, he also focuses on life skills like confidence, perseverance, respect, 100% effort, and they can earn badges in those areas.\r I’m really glad we started her in the program when we did. She gets kind of restless from sitting in school during the day, and then after karate class she’s much more peaceful. Also, the life skills part has been a great help to us in talking to her about some areas we wanted her to work on. They also talk about self-defense in a non-scary way as part of the classes. They talk about being aware of your surroundings, and what to do if a ‘bad guy’ tries to grab you. I think it does make them more aware and prepared without them really thinking too much about what exactly could happen.\r more

Excellent programs 6/7/2011

My son and I have been attending karate and kickboxing classes here for the last year, and we couldn’t be happier. My son is getting great exercise while learning something he enjoys, and the life skills curriculum reinforces all the important values that parents want to instill in their children. Master Kay is fantastic with kids. He connects with them on their level, displays incredible patience, and serves as an excellent role model and motivator. Between the two of us, my son and I are at the karate school five days a week. Last Friday, he complained to me, “I wish today was a karate day.” more

Beware he uses a dept collector 5/5/2011

Be careful! When you sign up they charge the full 6 or 12 months worth of fees to a debt collector and there is no cancellation policy. So sign up for 6 months and say goodbye to over $800. Ok if you are sure you will be able to go for the full period but if circumstances change an it no longer works for you, you are out of luck. more
