not impressed 12/2/2011

i was there recently & Im sorry to say I will NOT return, it was indeed a ""dive"" no, I did NOT like the food, it was very generic. I agree with a previous comment about the bartenders, they seemed very ""trashy"" and didnt know how to make certain drinks, I was upset at that. this is more of a ""beer & shot"" joint, dont expect a good mixed drink. the owner seemed nice but all he did was sit at the bar & drink one beer after another so I felt uncomfortable. to me, this is more of a personal hang out for people who are alcoholics, they sit at the bar all night drinking and hanging out with nothing else better to do. I was looking more for a restaurant that served a good quality drinks, not this place! more

""Average Joe"" type bar 1/13/2011

I've been going here since we moved to the area. The owners are very nice. They can get some good bartenders there but probably because of the low volume the good ones don't seem to hang out too long. The regulars are one reason to visit this pub though. Talk about a cast of characters ! They are friendly and boisterous and if you like to people watch this is a good place to go. As far as the food goes, for a bar - the food is pretty darned good, for a Mexican restaurant it's not bad. It is more authentic than most of the chain Mexican places which tend to spice things up to the hilt so if you like your Mexican cuisine more authentic, you'll love the food here. They also have American foods that are usually well prepared as well. Free food is usually available for the Bears games half-times and the drinks are definitely reasonably priced, and they have daily food and drink specials. Probably the best prices around. I keep going because of the pricing and the regulars, I've never had a ""bad"" meal and the owners are cool too. more

Great Food Great People! 7/31/2010

I just moved into Lagrange and this resturant is right down the street from my house, It is a great local spot and the prices are reasonable. The bar crowd is friendly and the food is really good too. The bar staff is very attentive and good looking. It has become my home away from home. I can not understand why the reivew in May was bad, They must of been having a bad day! Pros: Kobe Burger and the Ribs are AWESOME!!!!!!! more

HORRIBLE GHETTO DIVE! 5/16/2010

a total DIVE! this place is HORRIBLE! new owners and yes, they did some remodeling, but the bar is a hot mess! the owner & his son sit at the bar all day & drink & get drunk, then they actually get behind the wheel & drive! the son has already had a DUI coming out of there! also, whoever the son dates becomes an automatic bartender! which explains the bad service! horrible service, cheap quality food at an expensive price, and a total dive! AVOID!!! oh, did I mention the fruit fly problem, nasty! their bartenders look like hood rats! this place is very ghetto!...poor quality all the way around! Pros: nothing! Cons: everything! more

a new look 8/11/2009

I just went to this bar for the first time in months and it has come a long way. It has been totally remodeled and it looks really nice. They have added to the menu and have pretty good drink specials. I was actually impressed. Pros: good, fast lunch food Cons: wild night life more

decent dive. 1/12/2009

It's a dive bar. So don't go in there expecting something else. The bartenders are nice you just have to talk to them (it's like ANY dive bar). I have only had the food a couple of times but I would suggest going with mexican food from there, I believe they kept their old cooks from when they were Que Pasa. The patrons are usually quite funny and nice, and I would suggest it if you'd like a quick drink and some food after work. I wouldn't necessarily suggest going to the restaurant section and pretending you're in a regular restaurant- make no mistake- it's a bar that serves food. Pros: decent service in a friendly and relatively fun atmosphere. not so busy you can't get a drink but generally not dead. Cons: dive bar. if you don't like dives, not so much a place you'd enjoy. more

low class dive! 10/28/2008

i ordered the shrimp and steak and let me tell you, i will never eat there again! i've gotten better food from a local burrito hole, or even a 7-11. the place is small and over priced for their quality. their bartenders/servers are very rude and unprofessional. their patrons are loud, drunk, and obnoxious. if you want good mexican food i would suggest going right next door to cafe salsa, they are a thousand times better, and a much nicer place to sit down in. mark's on 66 is nothing more then a low class dive if a good bar is what you are looking for, then head over to TIME OUT sports bar, their atmosphere is great and so is all of their staff, time out's food is great too! avoid mark's on 66, countryside has alot more to offer! Pros: good location Cons: low class dive, poor food, poor service, worst atmosphere! more

Mark's on 66 7/8/2008

The food at Mark's is great. The meat they use comes out extremely tender and flavorful, the Mexican rice is authentic, & the shrimp is to die for. I recommend that you give them a try. As for the drinks, I didnt find them to be over priced. Their prices are competitive. The bartenders are very nice. Pros: There is a quiet restaurant area away for the bar where you can sit, so bring family. Cons: You have to wait for the bartender to come over to the restaurant side to take your order, but its worth the wait. more

a place to avoid 12/20/2007

the food was bad, the bartenders were very inexperienced and rude! service was unexceptable! the atmospere was very small and smoke filled, not a place to eat, more like a corner dive bar. please dont bring your children because there is too much profanity being said on a constant basis! also, there were alot of fruit flies, so only bottled beer is recommended! this is more of a place for older men to grab a quick beer and shot, but certainly not a place to hang out and deffinitely not a place to bring your family and friends! Pros: if you are an older man just wanting a quick beer and a shot, this is the place for you. Cons: fruit flies, poor service, bad food, bad atmoshere, bad everything. more
