Dead Flowers 2/24/2012

I ordered an arrangement to be delivered as a congratulatory gift. The flowers arrived very late in the evening - luckily we were staying in that night so were home when they arrived. It was a very nice arrangement of mostly roses, and they looked beautiful. more

terrible customer service 1/5/2009

My mother has been a long time and frequent customer for years. She suggested to me that I call to place multiple orders in December for Christmas. I had the worst time tracking down the status of my flowers. I constantly called throughout the day and could never receive a straight answer. A very rude and irritating employee, Mabelle(???) kept raising her voice which did not help at all because I was so frustrated. Not only did they arrive extremely late, they were left at the door in a location that the person I was sending it to couldn't even notice. The worst part was that they hadn't discovered the flowers until AFTER Christmas!!! Apparently the store was closed for weeks, I couldn't get a hold of anyone to help me. Don't bother ordering from here. You would probably be happier picking flowers at the park . Pros: Their baskets Cons: Customer service more

Hard working crew!!! 11/11/2008

I was recently in Mark's Garden trying to order flowers for my sister birthday. Upon arriving I heard the phones ringing off the hooks and the designers completely swamped with what appeared to be a huge event. Yet I was so amazed at their great customer service and attentiveness. They made eye contact the minute I walked in and they signaled that I would be helped. I looked around at the beautiful display of flowers they had. Soon after one of the girls got off the phone she came right over even though there were othe people on hold. She was very polite and worked with me (as I know I am picky) with patience. The day of my sisters birthday I was so amazed at how exact the arrangement was made. I understand that half the time something is lost in translation since it goes from the sales person to the designer but they are absolutely amazing!!! I am so surprised to see bad reviews... I feel people should really put themselves in their shoes. Pros: They are attentive with lots of high end clientele, willing to work with us ""little"" people Cons: busy... but understandable more

Mark's Garden has HORRIBLE Customer Service 11/7/2008

I truly thought with the ""reputation"" they have that they would strive to take care of their customer's large and small alike. I was shocked at how heartless these people were. I guess they think since they are considered a celebrity florist that they can do what ever they want and call it customer satisfaction. I had the manager, Rita, tell me to, ""get to the point"" and Ben say to me, ""we did what we were supposed to do"" not once hearing an apology. They feel that leaving flowers on a call box without a courtesy call to the recipient or to the person that placed the order is appropriate. They think it is okay to call the next day and say, ""oh by the way did you get your flowers?"" Nobody seems to care that a call a day later might ruin a special occasion. I keep hearing, ""well you did get the flowers, right?"" Like I should be happy that they are even entertaining our order at all. I really thought that I might have had an isolated incident but I was wrong, everyone seems to be receiving bad service! I am not alone in feeling that Mark has no idea what his people are doing or he just doesn't care anymore. Well, the next time we order flowers or host a large event, we will be looking elsewhere. I wouldn't order flowers from them, even if they were the last flower shop on earth. I have never experienced such poor customer service. Mark's Garden better realize that word of mouth is just as powerful as being featured in the pages of some glitzy celebrity magazine. Wake up and smell the roses, Mark's Garden! You are not the only game in town and people talk. Taking care of your customers should be important to you and your employees. This is obviously not the case. If you are reading this, don't waste your time ordering flowers with Mark's Garden because after you place your order and they take your money it is all down hill from there. Their customer service is so poor that even if the arrangement is beautiful you will chuck it out of principal alone. Pros: You can say you received bad service from an A-List Celebrity Florist. Cons: They are rude and have no idea the meaning of taking care of their customer. more

Poor customer service. They do not care. 9/1/2008

Called them in August for a specific color type arrangement for a party centerpiece. I felt the person taking the instructions was not really listening. I called back 2 days before the party..told 2 times that they did not have time to speak with me to verify the correctness of order. Called back the day before the party and was told that ""pink"" had been written down. I had specifically requested bright colors..hot pink, yellow, teal. I was told that they would correct that. The flowers delivered the morning of the party were pale ivory roses with pale pink edges that were browning already. more

Unique beautiful arrangements 5/13/2008

Their arrangements are absolutely beautiful, not your every day flowers. Their flowers are perfect for any occasion if you're looking for an elegant and unique look. Pros: unique arrangements Cons: expensive but you get what you pay for more

They once were good... 2/20/2008

Mark's garden was once a hot spot if one was out to impress a loved one:) Lately they have no soul. All the customer service that I once loved are gone. Replaced with people who have no clue what they are talking about. Sad but true this once great place is going down and getting ride of all there best sales people! more

Overpriced and overated 5/25/2007

I recently ordered a bouquet for my girlfriend and the total nearly gave me a heart attack. On top of that, the flowers only lasted three days. I heard thru the grapevine that they lost a few of their top designers and it shows. Another friend of mine had their wedding supposedly designed by Mark and discovered that it is not he, but other designers that he delgates the design to do, and then he takes all the credit! Yesterday, i was recommended to visit a fairly new local florist, and sure enough, i recieved confirmation that Marks Garden is not Mark but the designers he hires, as this florist was his leading designer and the man who REALLY designed several celebrity weddings, including Gwen Stefanie and Kate Beckinsale. The name of the florist is Fleur De Liz on Riverside. Guess who is my new florist and party decorater! Pros: Several designers Cons: Poor quality, really expensive, uncaring staff. more

Horrible customer service when flowers died two days later 8/10/2006

Beautifully arranged bouquet but it died within 24-36 hours. When I called 72 hours (on the 3rd day) to complain, the sales manager (who said she spoke for the owner) were rude and unhelpful. Instead of offering to replace the bouquet or give us a credit for even part of the order, the manager refused to do anything and wouldn't allow me to speak to the owner. We were frequent clients of the shop and won't use them again Pros: beautiful arrangements Cons: flowers died. customer service was horrible more

Fantastic, unsual but tradional arrangements 12/6/2005

Living on Reputation Alone 11/21/2005

I've done business with Mark's Garden for several years now. For the first few, they did a really great job. The flowers were always fresh, the arrangements were tasteful and artistic, and they had some customer service. Recently, many of the arrangements I've sent have been dead within two days, which never used to happen. That doesn't bother me that much. Their customer service is atrocious. Apparently, putting customers on hold for ten minutes at a time and then cutting them off is acceptable. Or, answering the phone and interrupting a customer mid-sentence to do so is as well. Luckily, after Mark's Garden raised the bar from the typical FTD store many other shops have followed and will be receiving my business in the future. Pros: Nice Flowers, Nice Arrangements Cons: Rude Customer Service, Arrogance, Long Hold Times more

nice arrangements, bad service 10/21/2005

yes, we all know that this shop does flowers for a lot of big events. maybe if you're a high profile client and spending over $20K on flowers you also get great service. coming in and just ordering a few arrangements obviously is not enough for them to offer you a pleasant ordering experience or even a SMILE. the prices are HIGH, and the customer service just doesn't warrant that. there are PLENTY of great florists in the city that do comparable and BETTER work with no attitude. go elsewhere... Pros: nice arrangements Cons: bad service, high prices more

Unhappy... 9/2/2005

The service is terrible and the flowers don't last. And twice now, the flowers were full of spiders! And no one really cares if your happy or not... Used to be, a good florist! Not any more. more

Simply the BEST! 5/6/2005

The arrangements are classic and sure to please (PERFECT for anniversaries, guys). They are THE go to place for Mother's Day, special Thank You's and romantic gestures. You never have to worry, they always do something perfect. Wives will be blown away. It's like comparing a Bentley to a Yugo. You can't put a value on the artistic quality. WELL WORTH THE PRICE! They never disappoint. Pros: Excellent designs, Long-lasting, Great presentation more

It's not worth it! 9/25/2003

The flowers are gorgeous and they do a great job of arranging them, but each employee has a different arttitude issue and none of them are pleasant. Ordered from them about five times and the service got worse each time. They set all the rules regartding delivery etc. and you pay the bill. you are allowed no input and you get snarled at the whole time. This is a perfect example of a very talented individual who has totally forgotgten how he got to where he is, He truly believes his own press, all of it! But the baskets are truly spectacular, Each is a potential museum piece! so. take a deep breath and order! Pros: Spectacular product, consistent quality, unique Cons: attitude, rude employees, egomaniacal more

Wonderful wedding flowers 8/27/2003

I got my boutonnieres, bridesmaid nosegays and bridal bouquet from Mark's Garden and they were utterly fabulous. Stephen was such a great help to me, and my own bouquet was everything I could have imagined and more. The quality of the flowers was fantastic and they lived on for well over a week. I loved the fact that they even called me the day before the wedding to go through the order all over again to make sure that there were no mistakes. This did a lot for my peace of mind and was very professional. The prices were no more expensive than any other local Studio City / Sherman Oaks florist and the results were exceptional. I'd highly reccommend them. Pros: high quality, great value more

A beautiful bouquet every time 3/31/2003

Mark's Garden isn't your typical florist. Each bouquet is beautifully designed. On occasion, I have dropped in needing various flower arrangements. On weekends, they are typically very busy with weddings and events, so it's better to call ahead then just stop in. However, the gorgeous arrangements they were able to whip up for me with no notice made a lasting impression. Pros: Beautiful arrangments more
