Is the best ever! 6/15/2011

I have been a customer of Marks Ark since I was little. They are always there to help me if I have specific questions about my pets since I don't know a ton. They have all the supplies I need and will give me a good deal. I enjoy the fun atmosphere and how they have upgraded the building and dog cages in the last year. My kids and I will go there and see all the animals and notice that they all have food and water and seem happy for pets. Thanks Marks Ark for being there always! Keep up the good work! more

Wonderful Experience 6/14/2011

Marks Ark is an awesome pet store! They have a huge variety of animals from puppies and kittens to reptiles and fish and much more. I have always been able to find everything I need for my pets at this store. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable and super helpful! We recently purchased a couple of bunnies for my daughters and they absolutely love them. The staff was very helpful in helping us pick out just the right ones, they asked my girls what kind of bunnies they wanted and what color and if they wanted a boy or girl. They made us feel great about our experience and my girls absolutely love the bunnies! Thanks Marks Ark you are the best!!!! We would definitely recommend this store to everyone!!! more

Best Pet Store in Utah 6/14/2011

We are huge fans of Marks Ark. Me and the kids love going there. The staff is very knowledgable and very friendly. They are always very helpful when we have questions about animals we are looking to buy or ones we already own. We have always had a great experience and would highly recommend to anyone that currently owns pets and/or is looking to buy pets. They have a large selection of animals that are very well cared for and are just waiting for the perfect home. They also have a great variety of toys, cages, and food for all different animals. We will never shop at any other pet store as Marks Ark has won our business with their exceptional Customer Service and knowledgable staff!! more

Best Pet Shop In SLC UTAH 6/14/2011

I have never had a better experience at a pet shop then I did with Mark's Ark there customer service and knowlege of there product was OUTSTANDING!!.. Right away I was blown away by the selection and how helpful everyone was!!! I will never shop at another pet store.. Thank you Marks Ark for not only my amazing pets but for treating me with respect and making sure I knew everything about the animal I was purchasing!!! more

Sick pup 5/8/2011

I bought a puppy from them and it wasn't the best experience. The puppy is still at the animal hospital on IV's and a nebulizer. Todd the owner did tell us he would refund the purchase price. He seems much more understanding than any of the people he employs. more

we got our kitten from marks ark we spoke with the owner for a while he seems to really care about his animals and really wants all of them to be healthy and happy and about the smell animals don't smell like roses people ever smell a guy after hes been to the gym same thing . we love marks ark and will been customers for years to come . more

DEAD ANIMALS EVERYWHERE 3/31/2011

DO NOT GO HERE!! :( this place is unbelivable!!! i have been there a few times and all the rodents have looked dead. the last time i went one was, the time befor that a frog on display was dead. the way they take care of the dead animal was very unprofessional, enfront of children they picked it out of the cage and dropped it in a bag. :( i did love the place with its wide selection of animals and cheap prices but as many dead animals that i had to tell the owner about is not right! the store is to hot and cuase many of the animls to pant and get heat stroke!!! tell you what, i wont ever be taking my family there again i will pay the extra 20 dollars elswhere.\r \r more

THE ANIMALS ARE BETTER OFF DEAD!! 1/25/2011

I had went to this store to look for a black throat lizard. When you open the door you want to hurl because it smells so bad. ALL of the animals are in very small cages AND to add to that those small cages are over crowded! The cages are very filthy and the animals look either sick or depressed, Most likely both! When I found the black throat's I noticed there were MITES in their water. I stepped on two crickets being in the store for TEN MINUTES. The animals are in terrible shape, I found two rabbits that were barely breathing!! I will NEVER shop there, I will make damn sure their shut down, and I will find my black throat lizard else where!! DO NOT SHOP HERE! Oh, P.s. All the good comments you see for this store is the employee's, friends of the manager, and the manager trying to over throw the bad comments. I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT! more

You guys are rediculous 1/13/2011

I LOVE this store!!! The people who cant stand the smell are the people who have never had a pet... that's what animals smell like people, especially when there are a ton of them in one place! What do you expect it to smell like? Flowers? No... This is a great store, with very helpful people, maybe not helpful in all areas, but they do they best they can, and in most areas they are the people i go to. As far as the space, yes it is small, but the company does the best that it can by providing the care the pets need and the best selections for there customers. If you don't like it dont go. more

I love Marks Ark!!! 10/4/2010

I love Mark's!! I have bought 2 snakes and several mice from them. They have recently done some new construction on the puppy cages which i think is great!! and to everyone who says its disgusting and smells... they are animals.. they smell.. duh... you try keeping up with that... they dont only have the animals in the front to care for. I love shopping here their prices are great !! pets mar and pet co are way too expensive and limited marks has a great variety and a very friendly staff that are very helpful!! more

Mark's Ark Should Be Shut Down! 9/25/2010

First we bought a Chinese Water Dragon and he died from bad health, even though they said he was healthy. At the same time we also bought a dog from there, our little mini poodle. \r They told us the dog was a little girl. 2 days later our dog started vomiting and had severe diareha. We took the dog to the vet and were told that she was a HE and that he had Parvo. They gave him a 2% survival chance. We paid 400$ for him and Mark's Arc said they would pay up to his purchase price. They only paid 200$.\r The total vet bills were 1500$. Our little guy made it and is now a happy 1-year-old. \r However I wouldn't buy a cricket from these people.\r I doubt they have ever cleaned the floors or cages. It makes my so sad to think of the other dogs there that die in the much too small confined spaces they are forced to live and contract life threatining illness that go untreated and uncared for. \r Please shop somewhere else. Save a life from the shelter. Same price, minus the extra 1,00 more

well for those who think its so bad at marks ark you show me a pet store that has more than 2 or 3 reptiles that dont smell a little but thats where they are good there aint no pet stores in utah that has the selection of reptiles like they do the others think that birds and fish are the only thang a pet store should carry more

AWESOME DEALS & SERVICE!!! 8/16/2010

After shopping around for an aquarium and supplies for my son's free pet turtle (that we got from a family friend) we went to Marks Ark. We got a great deal and saved about $100. Todd was awesome, knowledgeable and gave us huge discounts on everything and even threw in a couple of freebies. He also was willing to look at our turtle (even though he is not a vet and even though the turtle did not come from Marks Ark) to make sure that it looked healthy and to give us advice on turtle care. I love this store! My brother bought his healthy, wonderful, female ornate wood turtle from here. And then about a year later (because of its wonderful service) I bought my short haired female guinea pig, we have had her for just over a year now and she is doing great! more

I dont care what all of you other people think, Mark's ark is the best animal store i have been to. I go there to ask questions about my animals and they give you the info you need without spending 1000 dollars at the vet. The animals look healthy and well kept. There animal food is cheap and have special medicines if needed. My chinchillas eat a lot and require food by the pound, we went to pet co. to find the food costing 20 dollars and went to marks ark for 10 dollars. My cousin went today and she asked a employee about her bearded dragon and turtle and the employee replied with great advice to her problem. I would suggest it to anyone with money problems... more

Do not shop here! 2/24/2010

This store is horrible. \r I went here ONCE and was MORE than disappointed!\r The store smelled and I do believe that they had animals that were not legal at one point. \r The animals were cramped in tiny cages and conditions that NO animal deserves. \r I actually was about to apply for a job when I saw an iguana in pretty bad shape. My mom was curious and actually pulled the animal out without permission to find out that it was nearly dead. His heating pad had broke and he was ice cold. The cage wasn't even a 10 gallon tank and it had TWO iguanas that were two feet long. They were being fed OLD food with mold on it and both looked very depressed. I felt I had no choice and purchased the animal out of pity, nursing it back to health. \r I noticed the smell and the condition of it all. \r Most animals were not being well taken care of and the attendant was quite rude. I will not shop here ever again and I would NEVER suggest it to anyone. more

I love marks ark!!! Not only do they have the best selection of pets and exotics but the staff is very knowledgable!!! its like the other guy says it looks dirty but thats because the building it is in is very old but if you look at the animals enclosures they are clean and always have fresh food and water. And if you hang out there long enough you can see that they all love and care for the animals and you can see the level of dedication and care each employee puts into the animals. also yes it does smell but so does the animal shelter, the Humane society and the zoo. I was talking to one of the ladys that used to be an investigator at the humane society and she said that she never had problems with the place many other pet shops in the valley are another story.\r also any animal shelter or humane society will have the risk of kennel cough and if your dog is still coughing clearly it needs to see a vet instead of you bitching about this pet store you are the one neglecting your pet it more

great store ! it is old and looks dirty but if you look in the cages all the beding is clean and the water dishes are spotless . i have been in cleaner looking store that look great from the outside but there animals sit mess with things floating in there drinking water . i bought a alb redtail boa great prices on snake and supplies . steve was a great help ( they have large reptile cages that no one else in the state has ) more

On a scale of 1-10, I would give this store a 5. This is only because they have a good selection of exotic animals, and low prices. Otherwise I would give it a 1, because it smells horrible, and the employees are completely unfriendly and not very knowledgable. I have bought many animals from the store over the years and, surprisingly enough, have not had any medical issues with the animals. Bottom Line: if you are looking for exotic animals and low prices, but are willing to look past the smells, filth, and bad employees, then this store is for you! more

Mark's Ark Inc is absolutely disgusting! 12/15/2009

This place is horrible!!! I think the only way they get decent reviews is by having the employees talk them up. How the heck does the Humane Society not get them shut down? Sure the place is small and warm for the animals sake but that's NO excuse for these conditions! If that was the case then how could other stores like pets and such have the same size space without the smell and grotesque cages? Everytime I've been in there you can see how sad the animals are. They all look sick and on the verge of death... that must be the only reason people buy from those "men". It's true that you pay for the quality else where. Even if you buy a cheap animal it will cost you ten times more in vet bills. How can they work there in that stench???!!! If you ask me I'll never walk in there again and keep to the place that has helped me the most over the years of critter keeping. more
